House of the Dragon: Second of His Name (2022)
Still a guilty pleasure but...
... a few things in this episode were really poor.
There was this Rambo Style, totaly unbelievable battle with the Crabfeeders army, who like Stallone's enemies can't aim, dont know how to attack in unison, but line up to be slashed or stabbed down one by one. Like in a cheap kung-fu movie. Otherwise a great battle scene when the rest of the men enagaged eachother, but I was almost waiting for Daemon to jump into a miraculously appearing phonebooth, reveal himself as Superman putting his red cape on and fly with the dragons. You can be kick-*ss without becoming incredible but to top it all, he enters the caves and next thing we see is him dragging the crabfeeder's corpse (well part of it) out, no battle, no confrontation, just blackness and hurray... battle over Superman (without cape) won, the evil enemy ran out of kryptonite and is defeated, we just never got to see how.
Now what would have been Bad-*ss did not happen, in fact it was a sad, pathetic and (even though its not real) tasteless and shocking scene of the mighty king killing a helpless strapped[down scared stag and not even flawless but needing a second strike. WHY is this expilicitkly filmed and not the fight with the Crabfeeder, and In my opinion, letting the stag go whould have shown real kick-*ss-ness. "OK guys great job scaring the thing senseless and capturing it, but now let it go, chop chop, time for tea." Now that be a strong and majestic action...
Anyway I hope the next episode will be less flawed.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Adar (2022)
Getting better, yet a bit too heavy on the Harfoots
This show gives me mixed feelings, the CGI and vistas are breathtaking as in the lighting and overall acting. The music is very LotR like, what weight on the show is the Harfoot element, thought its cute at times , are not really a thing in this Era in the history of MIddle Earth, they are/wer insignificat and the series highlights their presence and story line too much in my opinion. Actualy I dont know why they are in the show at all, beside perhaps, the hint at the early ancestors of the Hobbits. If I were one of the producers I would tone the Harfoot element in the next season significantly down and focus on the big events that span something like 3 millennia in the original legends and HUman Elves and Dwarves are the protagonist and Orgs Goblins and ofcourse Saurons other minions the antagonist. Storyline enough there I would say. In any case I am still enjoying the show inmensely, primarily based on the visual audio candy and the developing (minus the Harfoots) storyline.
The Blacklist: Misère (2021)
Misery indeed
How incredibly stupid the writers of this show think we are... Keene just has to whisper mysteriously and smile and even the most (or should be most) careful people in trust-all-she-says-mode, whether that be the nr 2 supervillain, who doesn't even shy killing his own sister, or someones daughter, who should trust her fathers instinct better then some wannabe "let me warn and help you" nobody in their lives. And now they dug up her imaginary-nanny-friend Kaplan, who is a "voice" in her head, telling her to do bad things... so bad any fiber in her body should revolt and act against it. SMH, There is people here that say this show is about the relation between Red and Keene, it was, till they turned it so incredibly unbelievable. Keene either need to be straightened out and be made credible again, or her story line should end, lest the next season of this show will turn out to be one big misere,,,
10 stars for Spaders performance with Anne, -9 for the incredible flunky script and +2 for letting good'ole Kaplan earn a few bucks for making an appearance in the show.
The Blacklist: The Cyranoid (No. 35) (2021)
How to ruin a show with Keen without having Keen show up
By Jove, the writers did it, they found a way to ruin this episode with a dose of "Keen-crap" without Megan Boone, showing up as Keen. (BTW I have nothing against the Actress, just the farce they made of the character she has to play) Keen has now even got more phenomenal, she knows all the ways to steer her detained "avatar" through an highly secure and probably (at least should be) radio/transmission proof FBI facility to murder another detainee, manipulate super crooks, that should be suspicions of strangers with that act (bogus: because the act itself proof nothing about trustworthiness, just treacherousness) and of course is smarter then said supercrook, who is now her "ally", Red, the FBI including Aram who seems to have an IQ of below 60 once he leaves his keyboard, her one-night lover-boy and most likely God itself. This nonsense is going from bad to worse, the producers would do well to terminate the Keen story line as soon as possible. Short of her being abducted by Aliens and given all encompassing knowledge, cunning, skill etc, no excuse could be found for this (and yes that wouldn't be an excuse at all). Stop insulting our intelligence with this. 3 stars for a nice idea with the avatar/doppelgangers idea.
The Blacklist: Ogden Greeley (No. 40) (2021)
What do you get if...
... you decide to bury a long dead and boring storyline, which is taking up 2/3rd of episode time, you get time and energy for great new episodes. And that's what happened, another successive (credits only) for agent Keen means another good to excellent episode, though this one was not even close to Glen's eulogy, it was an enjoyable episode in which we saw a bit more from Agent Cooper, besides being the boss and sitting behind his desk. Writers keep up the good work.
Bob Hearts Abishola: The Cheerleader Leader (2021)
Too much worry, too little laughter.
Too much dancing in the last 2 episodes, too much (ex) husband, and way too little Kemi, Tunde, Olu Douglas, Christina and Dottie. Bob is still very funny, but its time we can share a laugh or two per episode about Abishola too, her character is way to bland, serious and at times worrisome and annoying.
Call Me Kat: Plus One (2021)
Don't watch the real thing before this one, unless you like to compare
A almost one on one clone of the original UK series with Miranda Hart. Mayim Bialik does an admirable job copycatting MIranda Hart, which at the same time is the weakness of the show, Mayim plays MIranda, MIranda IS Miranda, The original is simply pleasantly crazy and weird, genuinely, the show is written for her personality, Mayim has to re en-act it and that makes it a lot less funny and feels a bit forced, Still she comes close in lots of moments. I find pleasure in watching how far she will succeed "Mirandarizing" herself, she did an admirable job, and I hope it will grow on her in the next episodes.
The Blacklist: Elizabeth Keen (No. 1) (2021)
Writers of the deep end, show down the drain...
The previous episode was already very bad, this one was abysmal. Now the Keen storyline has driven the writers sofar everyone of any significance in the show is acting erratic and totaly out of character, not just all FBI zealots but even Red, who suddenly abandons better judgment and believes a sidekick he hardly knows over his trusted Lawyer who even did time for him out of loyalty, because he believes a A grade criminal lawyer would be so stupid to perform incriminating acts under his own name using his own credentials and signature. The completely illogical behavior of Keen herself I already debunked at my review of the previous episode. At the end they tried to hint Reds actions may be part of some bigger scheme, but letting Keen pry at all his assets and contacts, approach all people that now know Red's system is not so discrete as they may have thought and feel compromised will have caused big underlying damage, so if there is some plan by Red, its either extremely dumb or just as erratic and a forced twist to save the writers out oft his dead end street. If the same writers that created this mess of a story-line are responsible to device a twist to redeem the show, I would be more then surprised. Two stars, one for poor Marvin and one for the goat

Why do we even start watching shows on Fox
Lets hope some streaming service picks this up, in itself its a decent , amusing show, that never got the chance to become a real hit. Guess Fox rather serves us (their) opinion.
