Arrogant miserable SOB
10 February 2018
I initially enjoyed this series. The lead, Richard Harrington, seemed like a manic depressive on steroids, lived in filth and treated his colleagues with silent disdain. This obviously was his character and Harrington portrayed it perfectly, I have never been to Wales so I drank in the scenery. The music provided a perfect backdrop and was absolutely wonderful. However, after reading an article from Wales Online dated Sept 10, 2015 in which Harrington is quoted as saying "he hated everything about the show" I now understand that his hatred of being in a hit show which garnered all kinds of accolades and award nominations must have been the fuel for his sour face. Obviously he gives no credit to the very talented crew who produced this series Why would he hate being in a hit series? Oh wait, if his world revolves only around himself........ Yes, Mr. Harrington, it will look very very bad on your resume to list a hit series, of which you were the star. Please. Can we say arrogance? Can we say massive ego? Can we say give no respect to your colleagues? Ugh.

Should be titled The Rusty Show

Why is the spin off built around this little punk? The Closer was built around Brenda and it was always entertaining. Kyra Sedgwick is a great actress. Mary McDonnell speaks like she is singing a song in slow motion and has absolutely no facial expression. Is this what botox does to your face or is she just a rotten actress? I keep waiting for her fake hair to fall off. ps Hairdressers for this show please note: Extensions are not meant for 65 year old women. The Closer was great; I loved it. The spin off stinks.

Statutory rape
7 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Who would have thought that statutory rape would be so casually accepted? A sexual predator who is so o oo o o handsome that dumb 16 year old Daphne cannot resist him and is just compelled to offer her body up to him Does this much older man (and boss) not realize that this is statutory rape? Come on. He is her boss; he knows her age. And this is glossed over like it is no big deal. Wow. I hope this is not considered a family show because when a 16 year old is shown looking at her birth control pills in preparation for sex with a much older man it destroys all credibility I thought, up to this point, that Daphne's character was intelligent, well adjusted and had lots of common sense due to her ever so righteous mother. The writers must have concluded that she was coming across as just too decent and had to join the ranks of promiscuous American teens. This was the end for me.

Usually excellent

In season 5 the writers must have decided it was time to establish a firm leftist viewpoint because 5, episode 2 portrayed patriotic Brits as Nazis, a casual comment was made that to continue a pregnancy was a choice and the unborn child could easily be disposed of, made sure to show a lesbian scene. Wow three strokes in one show. Congratulations lefties. And no - not all patriotic Brits are Nazis, no - many people would not even consider aborting their child and who cares about someone's sexual orientation?

Life in Women's Correctional Institution in Canada

Fantastic series; could not stop watching. I was literally glued to my screen for hours. Quebec and their fantastic writers, directors, actresses and actors have done an outstanding job Had no idea, even though I am a Canadian, that we had so many talented people in Quebec. Subtitles are of course a necessity as French is the language spoken. The odd scene which shows graphic sexual behaviour was nauseating, as was one of the characters who could only think about sex. So much so, that I have to wonder if the writer had "writers block" Apart from this one creepy woman all other characters were totally believable. (although sometimes gut wrenching) Having worked with Correctional Service of Canada it was especially interesting to me. I hope more of the same calibre of TV show is in the works
