Arrow: Canary Cry (2016)
What happened to Arrow?
Arrow has always been one of my favourite shows, but now I'm not so sure anymore. The last couple of episodes have been horrible, including this one.
Normally I'm a huge fan of Arrow's 'emotional' episodes. The aftermath of someone's death used to be very well explored. It would have set the storyline in a different (and interesting) direction. Unfortunately, that didn't happen this time. I got the feeling that this episode was more about self pity. Diggle was blaming himself for Laurel's death and Felicity was doing the exact same thing. Even the flashbacks were about feeling guilty. It was really annoying to watch. The storyline just didn't make any sense. It even confused me when I saw Barry Allen running off like nothing ever happened to his speed.
And to be honest, even the acting wasn't good. Some scenes were really painful to watch. Especially the one where Oliver was shouting at Diggle, because Diggle was attacking the mayor.
I hope this show is going to get better soon. Otherwise I'm going to give up on Arrow, because it is now a waste of my time.
Constantine: A Feast of Friends (2014)
Not for bug-haters
Another good episode for Constantine- one with a very surprising ending.
Constantine meets an old friend, Gary Lester. As you can imagine, this meeting isn't the most lovely one. Gary has set an evil hunger demon free and John has to solve this problem. This causes, of course, a lot of trouble.
I like this episode for several reasons. First of all, the episode is very well written. The 'monster-of-the-week' isn't maybe the most original one, but the case turned out to be great. The demon was horrible, and somehow even a bit scary (maybe that's because of the bugs). Second of all, they explored the relationship between John and Gary very well. It's obvious that they have a lot of issues to deal with (one of them being Astra's death). This episode is the best so far, and that's probably because of the ending (it isn't a happy one).
Constantine is getting better week by week. The cases are getting more interesting, and characters (like Zed) are getting more likable. The reason why I like this show so much is because of Matt Ryan. He plays the part of John Constantine wonderfully. However, the show itself could be better. I'm curious to see what is going happen in the next episode.

Arrow: Sara (2014)
One of Arrow's most heartbreaking episodes
Honestly, I think this is one of the best Arrow episodes so far. It centers on the aftermath of Sara's death, and it's truly heartbreaking.
I didn't know what to expect of this episode. I was a bit angry when Sara got killed off, even though I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. The writers have killed a lot interesting characters lately, and it all seemed too much. But I've got to say that they've handled Sara's death pretty well. This episode has a high emotional level, and it sets the storyline in an interesting direction. There is a killer on the loose, and Thea finally gets a (bigger) story-arc.
Besides that, I'm quite excited about Laurel's storyline. I hope she is going to honor Sara's memory by becoming the Black Canary, but that might take a while (even if it's going to happen).
This is a very well acted episode, especially by Katie Cassidy. Her performance is really outstanding! I had several times shivers down my spine, and I felt like crying during the whole episode. It was also nice to see Tommy again. I hope we are going to see more of him (and Sara) in the flashbacks. And what about Diggle naming his baby girl Sara?
Can't wait for next week! 9/10
