Q & A, Carol comes out to a standing ovation. She introduces Lillian Gish in the audience. There are clips of the first Q&A. Jim Nabors and Tarzan yells.

Clips of Carol's duets with Liza Minnelli, Ella Fitzgerald, Perry Como, Ray Charles, Bing Crosby, Rock Hudson, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. A clip of Burt Reynolds taking pratfalls.

Tudball and Wiggins are moving to a new office, flashback to when she was first hired, Vicki plays Mrs. Tudball.

Carol introduces Tim, he surprises her with James Stewart on the piano, she is overwhelmed, since he is her favorite actor.

There are clips of movie takeoffs.

Carol introduces Vicki, a clip of her singing her hit The Night That The Lights Went Out in Georgia.

A new Family sketch has Eunice going to a psychiatrist played by Craig Richard Nelson. Mama comes into the session and it ends with a freeze frame.

Carol looks through her scrapbook and introduces the dancers for one final routine.

The cast shows some outtakes, funniest are Carol and a horse and the hilarious Mary Worthless sketch.

The Charwoman closes up shop, Harvey appears and Vicki and Tim sign her book.

Carol talks about why she is ending the show, she wants to go on to other things, She gives praise to Harvey, Vicki and Tim. She sings her theme and breaks down a few times. There is another standing ovation and the lone sleeping security guard.

An OK Steve Lawrence Episode

A long Q&A, questions about Carol's permanent, a girl wants a kiss from Bob Mackie. The last show which is coming up soon. It goes on so long that Vicki, Tim and Steve Lawrence carry her off.

Tudball and Wiggins sketch, Tudball mistakes a phone call from Wiggins' auto mechanic as her doctor, he finds out her body is falling apart and no hope. He tries to be nice to her.

Carol tries to introduce Steve Lawrence, Vicki comes out and talks body language. Steve sings the Billy Joel song Just The Way You Are.

Carol and Steve are a married couple on a plane. It looks like the plane is crashing so they both confess affairs.

Carol is a Broadway star and Tim is her chauffeur, they have to go to low class diner to eat. She is afraid she will be recognized and is insulted when she isn't. Funniest scene when she sings along with the jukebox.

Tim is a president of an industry talking about dog food. A dachshund is more interested in eating an ashtray.

Steve sings Be My Love to Carol in a crowded elevator.

Carol sings her theme and Steve signs her book.

One Of The Weaker Episodes

Q&A- Ken Berry and Natalie Cole are the guests. A woman has an old picture and her sister and Carol's mother. Carol brings Tim out and shows a clip of his movie Billion Dollar Hobo.

A silent movie spoof about a tiff between couple Carol and Tim.

Natalie Cole sings her top ten hit Our Love with dual images of her.

Carol and Ken Berry are a couple in restaurant talking over mundane things, Vicki and Tim join them, the sketch is pretty dull.

The cast and Berry play dwarves singing Tall People a parody of Randy Newman's Short People.

Ken Berry goes a swinging, cool parody of Sinatra with the dancers.

Carol talks about TV watching, Vicki does a TV commercials parody with Ken as a psychiatrist. Carol plays a woman obsessed with soap operas. Ken is a an attorney prosecuting Tim as Bugs Bunny.

Carol, Vicki and Natalie sings songs about evil women.

Carol sings her theme and the guests sign her book.

Larry Meets Leon

Larry gets a wing named after him after donating to a nonprofit.

An amusing episode. Loretta's brother Leon comes to stay. Cheryl finds a stain on a blanket in his quest room. Leon denies doing it. Larry goes to the dry cleaner (Gina Gershon is back) and finds his Joe Pepitone Yankee jersey is misplaced. Anna tells him sometimes you get something or lose something at dry cleaners. Ted Danson also has a wing dedicated to him but he prefers to remain anonymous.

It turns out Jeff made the stain in Larry's house, Cheryl bans him. In revenge Susie also bans Larry from her house. Larry sees his jersey on another guy and Leon gets it back from him. He also sees a second guy with the same jersey. Funniest scene is the end when Larry is chased by the first guy.

Larry makes friends with a sex offender who moved into the neighborhood.

An OK episode, some amusing bits. It begins with Larry finding someone has been stealing his newspapers. An old couple (Pat Harrington plays the husband) from across the way asks for help with groceries. The wife says she saw a guy in a suit take the paper. Larry meets Rick the sex offender, he finds he is a nice guy who likes golf. Larry believes the newspaper thief is Mark, a doctor that he once gave a New York Times subscription. Everything comes to a head when Larry has a seder at his house. Funny scenes when everybody sees Rick enter and the old wife faints at the sight of either Mark or Rick.

Yoshi, a Japanese art dealer attempts suicide when Larry offends him.

An amusing episode, not one of the best. Larry always orders chicken teriyaki at a Japanese restaurant so he gets the nickname Chicken Teriyaki Boy. Yoshi tells him of his father being a kamikaze pilot in WWII. Larry asks him why his father didn't die, causing the offending statement. Larry also goes to the nursing home where his father and Yoshi are living, Larry likes the bingo games. He thinks the bingo games are fixed by one calling the numbers, she is played by Ann Guilbert.

Larry also thinks about advice from a doctor and a pharmacist. Funniest scene is the ending.

The Davids' maid Maria does not wear a bra, Cheryl asks Larry to tell her to wear one or fire her.

A fairly amusing episode, no huge laughs. The running gag has Larry wearing orthotics in his shoes causing them to be very noisy when he walks. Maria's husband Jesus is the handyman, Larry gives him orthotics to wear also. Larry decides to buy Maria a bra, he thinks Susie may be the same size. Funniest scene is when Larry tries on Susie's bra. This is caught on a hidden camera. Another joke involves the Tooth Fairy. Funny climatic scene when Jesus, angry over what he says about his wife's bra comes after Larry.

Another Funny Van Dyke Show

In the Q&A, a girl wants a kiss from Tim Conway and a 16 year old boy wants one from Carol. She sings How Long Has This Been Going On to him. Tim comes out and sings Old Man River to the girl.

Funny first sketch with Carol as a woman alone in a hotel room, across the way is Dick looking in her window, he turns out to be a mannequin. Later Tim is standing there, a hilarious punchline.

Tim is a customer in the self service area of a gas station, he and an angry attendant wreck everything.

Carol plays a receptionist at the Electric Company and Dick as customer whose power is off.

The cast take off their shoes and play their toes like musical instruments.

Carol and Dick are married trapeze artists and Vicki and Tim are another couple, they are all having affairs.

A very funny finale has Carol and Dick spoofing the Point/Counterpoint from 60 minutes. Vickie does a take off on Rona Barrett. Tim is Truman Capote at a cocktail party, the dancers play Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Liza Minnelli. Dick plays Joe Namath in panty hose. Carol comes on as Anita Bryant.

Carol sings her theme.

Larry gets ready to renew his wedding vows.

A funny episode, many interesting guest stars. Gina Gershon plays a flirty dry cleaner. Larry meets up with the rabbi doing the wedding vow renewal, he is played by former child star Barry Gordon. He is invited to a dinner party at Larry's house, he asks if he can bring a "survivor". Larry decides to invite a Holocaust survivor. It turns out the rabbi's guest is Survivor contestant Colby Donaldson, who did not win the show but was very popular. He and the Holocaust survivor get into argument over who suffered more. Funny scene when Larry offends Chery's mother over a sponge. Funniest moment is the glass breaking during the wedding ceremony.

Larry Gets A Physical

Larry has to take a physical before he can start his Broadway role.

A very funny episode, some good guest stars and a lot of humor about race. At the doctor's office Larry is checking out the gorgeous black nurse (Garcelle Beauvais) which makes his heart rate go up. The doctor gives him a "heart halter device to put on, and he won't approve his physical. Wanda Sykes is back again, constantly accusing Larry of racism. In the funniest scene, a driver rear ends Larry while he is leaving a message for David Schwimmer's father, he starts to curse out the other driver. When the driver comes after Larry with a tire iron, Larry fakes a heart attack. There is another funny scene with short Charlotte Hornets guard Muggsy Bogues. Melissa McCarthy has an early role as a toy store clerk who is constantly smiling. Larry also gets in trouble with the surrogate of a couple who are getting the baby.

Funkhouser Funeral

Marty Funkhouser's father dies.

A consistently funny episode with many "Larry David" moments. It begins with Larry and David Schwimmer rehearsing and Steve the choreographer is very complimentary to Larry, calling him "fierce".

Schimmer tells Larry about how his father manufactures a famous cashew-raisins snack. Larry finds the snack is low on cashews At the country club, Jeff tells Larry is talking very "gay", must be the influence of Steve the choreographer. At the golf course, Larry mistakes Sven the Norwegian caddy to be Swedish, he is offended.

At the funeral, Larry notices his 5 wood in the casket. He thinks Sven switched his club, in the funniest scene Larry switches the club with Jeff's 5 wood.

Larry begins rehearsals for The Producers.

This is a pretty good episode, amusing throughout but no huge laughs. It begins with Larry learning steps from a sarcastic choreographer. The pianist turns out to be the blind guy Michael from a previous episode. He shows up with his girlfriend Rhonda, who he thinks is a beautiful model but she is really unattractive.

Ben Stiller will be Larry's co star in the play, he shows up and invites Larry to his house for a birthday party for himself, even though his birthday was weeks ago. Larry thinks there should be a statute of limitations on it. Funniest scene is Larry walking around with a skewer after eating a kebab. Ben gets stuck in the eye with it.

One Of The Best Van Dyke Shows

Only the regulars appear, a long Q&A. A game show contestant from Concentration says she won a car with Carol's name in the puzzle. Someone from Brooklyn GA and Carol introduces Dick Van Dyke. He doesn't want to answer questions because his answers are boring, he goes into a boring story.

Carol as a wife who puts on a negligee but he doesn't notice. Some funny bits where she tries to get his attention, very funny punchline.

At a Uni Sex health club, Carol and Vicki sing a song where they wish men were like cave men. Dick and Tim play wimpy guys. Some funny fast motion scenes.

Dick plays an unlucky guy telling his troubles to Tim on a park bench. Many funny moments as bad things keep happening to him. Funny punchline involving a ring. Carol comes on after the sketch and Dick continues his boring story.

Another funny sketch as Dick as Carol's brother who is at the airport waiting for his plane. Tim is her husband and Vicki her daughter. They all end up arguing when the plane is delayed.

Tim plays a construction worker looking to kill his wife Carol. Funniest scene has a man eating plant.

Dick sings Once In Love With Amy with the dancers.

Carol comes out and Dick continues his boring story while she sings her theme.

Mel Brooks offers the Broadway lead role in The Producers to Larry.

A funny episode loaded with "Larry David" moments making a lot of laughs. It begins with Larry and Cheryl in an Italian restaurant where the waiter speaks only Italian. Cheryl reminds Larry their 10th anniversary is coming up and Larry reminds her of promise she made 10 years ago. She said if he marries her she will allow him to have sex with someone else after 10 years.

The funny moments have Larry nearly running into a wheelchair bound guy, Larry yells at him for talking on his cell phone. Another one is Larry talking to Mel's receptionist, finding out she and her "partner" are going to adopt a Chinese baby, he suggests names like Wang, Bang, Tang. Larry gets hit in the head accidentally by Mel opening a bathroom door. Larry's doctor (Phillip Baker Hall) drools on him. Larry refuses shake Ben Stiller's hand after Ben sneezes.

Larry is not sure if he wants the part in The Producers until he sees co star Cady Huffman.

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Acupuncturist (2001)

Larry bets an acupuncturist $5000 that he can cure his neck and he also lends a former writer he knew another $5000.

Many funny scenes in this episode, good connecting threads. It begins with a close up of Larry's face in the hole of the massage table, hard to recognize him without his glasses. The writer (Jeremy Kramer) is now working in a deli and he tells Larry he will pay him back when his father dies. Larry's Japanese acupuncturist sends him orchids, causing confusion.

The funniest moments are supplied by Edward Asner, playing the writer's father. He has a very funny reaction to Larry asking about a Japanese custom about the orchids. The scene with an angry Japanese waiter also provides a plot twist. Asner has a hilarious reaction to a lawyer who is dressed down for "casual Friday."

The '57 Chevy

Jeff buys a classic 1957 Chevy convertible.

An amusing, subtle episode, no huge laughs but a lot of quick little moments throughout it. Cheryl plans a house party and Larry cannot understand why you have to invite people to your house and feed them.

Jeff is "hurt" that Larry did not congratulate him for his new car. Jeff lets him drive it. Larry thinks someone behind him is beeping at him but it was just an AAMCO commercial on the radio, (Double A, beep-beep M-C-O). Larry yells and the guy rams the back of Jeff's car.

Larry later meets an AAMCO guy at the party. He is played by Mike Hagerty, a funny guest appearance.

There are some funny encounters with a homeless guy, Larry offers him food and the guy keeps saying "What is it?" before taking it.

Not One Of The Better Episodes

No questions in the Q&A Carol just announces the regulars and guest Steve Lawrence.

The first sketch is Tim as a private eye in an office littered with tons of beer cans. Carol is a client marked for murder.

Steve Lawrence sings Every Time I Sing A Love Song. Dick comes out and Steve gives him a singing lesson, they duet on I Could Never Really Sing.

Next are some sketches about TV stars holding out for more money.

Dick is a star, Tim a producer, Dick is going to be replaced with an exact lookalike.

Carol and Steve are a star couple who have to get regular jobs.

Dick plays a director and sitcom stars Carol, Vicki and Tim want to walk off their show.

The finale is a movie spoof of San Francisco 1936. Carol is the Jeannette MacDonald singer and Dick has the Clark Gable role. Tim plays the Spencer Tracy priest part, he sings his lines. Steve is a snobby opera star. Like the movie, it ends with the famous earthquake debris is dropped on the cast.

Carol sings her theme, Steve joins her and he signs her book. More debris is dropped on everyone.

First Show Without Harvey

Q&A- Carol announces Dick Van Dyke will be a new regular. Questions about her costumes, a Gone With The Wind remake, Vicki having a kid. She then says there will be a musical number, she sings "One" from "A Chorus Line" and Dick performs with the dancers.

A Family sketch has Ed not home, Dick shows up as a friend of his. Ed calls and says he is running away to Mexico with a girl named Shirleen. Mickey Hart shows up and says Ed sold him half the store.

Carol tries to introduce Jim Nabors but Dick comes out and does the introduction. Nabors sings "After The Lovin"

Dick and Tim do a sketch in pantomime about two workers putting in a plate glass window.

There is a very good finale about TV stars. Tim spoofs Fonzie from Happy Days. The funniest one is Vicki does a takeoff on Dolly Parton and keeps tipping over. Jim imitates John Denver. Dick does a slow motion spoof of Lee Majors Six Million Dollar Man and Carol does Farrah Fawcett.

Jim signs Carol's book for the 11th time, Vicki brings out her new baby. Carol sing her theme.

Here's Lucy: Lucy Fights the System (1974)
Season 6, Episode 24
The Final Show

A waitress comes into the agency and says she was fired from her job because of her age.

An OK episode which turned out to be final show broadcast. The waitress is played by Mary Treen, who played Andy first housekeeper on the first Andy Griffith Show, she was replaced by Francis Bavier as Aunt Bee.

Lucy gets an idea of having a young girl who is totally incompetent apply for the waitress job, Kim poses as the new waitress. It was mostly a showcase of Lucie Arnaz to show her comedy skills. She has some funny scenes making a shambles of the restaurant.

Lucy and Harry come in and pose as customers. A funny final scene has Harry getting a pie in the face. In a fitting final moment for the series, he says "I knew it would end like this!"

Lucy Visits Kim

Lucy is sad because Kim hasn't called her in some time, Harry tells Kim and she invites Lucy to spend the weekend with her.

Another weak Season 6 episode. Lucy arrives at Kim's apartment and finds Kim doing yoga. An amusing scene when Lucy gets into a lotus position and can't get out of it.

Later, Kim is trying to study but Lucy is making too much noise. Lucy overhears Kim complaining about her on the phone. Lucy tells her she has a date the next night so Kim can have a romantic dinner with her boyfriend.

Lucy goes out to a bar named Dirty Jack's Paradise. Dirty Jack is played by the director of the episode Jack Donohue.

Phil Harris Guest Stars

Lucy hears bandleader Phil Harris is looking for musicians for his band and offers to find them for him.

A good episode and a find showcase for Harris' talents. Lucy has some funny banter with Harris, his wife Alice Faye is mentioned. Lucy later comes in with musicians from different ethnic groups, according to the Equal Opportunity Employment. The funniest one is Ooka Lanooka, an Eskimo. Harris remarks that he is an Indian. Though I heard he was really not but his parents had many Cherokee friends. He hires Lucy to be the only woman in the band.

The scene where the band plays has Harris singing Deep In The Heart Of Texas with Lucy doing handclaps. He also sing his signature song That's What I Like About The South.

Here's Lucy: Mary Jane's Boyfriend (1974)

Mary Jane's new boyfriend Walter is more interested in Lucy.

A funny episode, helped by Cliff Norton's performance as Walter. He appeared in many TV guest shots on shows like The Odd Couple and Bewitched. He has many funny scenes as he pursues Lucy whenever Mary Jane is out of the room. Funniest scene is when he tries to come through the window in Lucy's bedroom, she slams the window down on him.

Mary Jane is also attending charm school, it ends up getting her a much handsomer boyfriend played by John Gabriel, he was in The Mary Tyler Moore Show for a short time as a sportscaster. When Lucy sees him she wants to go to charm school..

Lucy The Nurse

Lucy finds herself caring for Kim with a cold, Harry with torn cartilage in his knee and Mary Jane with two broken hands.

A funny episode, written by the I Love Lucy team of Bob Carroll Jr and Madelyn Davis. Adding to the problem is Kim's cat, also named Harry, who is about to have kittens.

I remember this episode from when it was first broadcast. I especially recall the scene where Mary Jane, with one broken hand, suddenly breaks the other one. Funniest scene is where Lucy is in the kitchen, Mary Jane and Kim are upstairs and Harry in the living room. Mary Jane yells down about things she wants like iced tea and cookies. Harry has relay the message, he finally ends up imitating Mary Jane's screechy voice.

Here's Lucy: Meanwhile, Back at the Office (1974)

Harry Sells The Business

Harry is depressed after selling the employment agency, Lucy is also out of work.

A weak Season 6 episode, not many laughs. The new owner of the agency is played by Don Porter who was in many films in the 1940s. At this time he was very busy in TV and also appeared in the 1972 Robert Redford film The Candidate.

He hires Lucy and Harry as employees. The first job they get ends up in a bookie joint and they get arrested.

Kim saves the day posing as a old lady and brings a live lion into the office. Only amusing scene has the lion playing around with it's trainer. Harry is terrified of it. Porter sells him the office back.

The Carol Burnett Show: Neil Sedaka (1977)

Good Show With Neil Sedaka

A long Q&A, questions about Tudball and Wiggins, a young man asks Carol if she is as foxy as Farrah Fawcett. She says "who is Farrah Fawcett?". She does the Tarzan yell and says "try that Farrah!" She talks about her appearance on All My Children.

Harvey plays a smarmy flirt in the IRS office. Carol is an uninterested woman in the waiting room. A very funny punchline to this one.

Neil Sedaka sings The Hungry Years, which was not a hit but he has stated it was the best song he ever wrote. Carol comes out, he says he has to leave after the finale so he can't sign her book, she brings it out then.

Some very funny commercial spoofs are next, Carol being driven crazy by all the interruptions, funniest moment is the Look For The Union Label takeoff.

Tim plays his Old Man character as an airport baggage handler.

Carol is a wife who keeps falling asleep while husband Harvey entertains potential employer Tim and his wife Vicki.

Neil sings a bit of his song Love WIll Keep Us Together. The cast performs it in different styles. Vicki in 18th century, Harvey does it in flamenco style, Carol and Neil do a jazzy version. At the end Carol lip synchs to the Captain and Tennille version, Tim spoofs the Captain.

Carol sings her theme and Neil signs her book again.
