The Real (I) (2013–2022)
5/10
Classy not Trashy
23 September 2014
A few of the ladies on this show need to clean it up. I understand the contrasting personalities... and that can work. I think it could work with these ladies but some changes will need to be made. What is going on now, at times, is like finger nails across a chalk board.

Loni Love anchors the show. This is good. Love her comedy and loved her on Chelsey Lately. She gets live TV. She is perfect to center the show.

Jeannie Mai is also good. She is creative and knows make-up, trends, fashion, yet she is very comfortable and relatable. Her areas of expertise can be exploited more on the show. Folks want to know what is trending and that could be her niche. However, whatever the heck she is currently doing with her hair is ridiculous! Those large flat swooped bangs across her tiny face with something growing out of the top of her head is not flattering at all to her bone structure and the blonde color just magnifies that. Jeannie Mai knows how to wear her hair and she needs to do so.

Tamera Mower-Housely. Obviously, the most conservative of the group. However, that has its appeal. She needs to stay true to herself and not allow herself to be intimated by or over shadowed by some of the over the top nonsense that is taking place with some of the co-hosts. She needs to bring more of the family, couple, working mother challenges to the show but in a way that is engaging and that we can laugh at ourselves as the real struggles of maintaining a home and a relationship are engaged in. She has grown up in the industry. She is educated. She is a working wife and a mother. She needs to own that in a way and engage us as that is very real for a great many.

Personally, I would replace Adrienne with Courtney Kardashian or maybe Chloe and replace Tamar Braxton with that bratty ice skater Ashley Wagner and keep the three above. Seriously, Ashley Wagner is a great actress and showed some real potential on the Bethany Show for TV as well as bratty and annoying enough at times to create some naturally good friction......or Ross Matthews and Jenny McCarthy would kill it with the three ladies above!! Wishful thinking.

I don't understand what Tamar Braxton and Adrienne Bailon bring to the show and they need to class it up. If the show keeps them both they both need make overs. They dress and behave like uneducated, pole dancers. Their wardrobe is not sexy because it does not flatter either one of them unless they are going for cheap prostitute. They both need to do something with their hair. It is so disgusting and distracting. Those black as night roots have to go. This attitudinal, "oh no you didn't" "girl" is boring and annoying. They do not compliment the three above.

Finally, the show needs more structure. The transitioning is uncomfortable and although I love spontaneous, you have to have a foundation to launch it from. The show needs to work a little more on the format to bring the best of these ladies to the table as it does have incredible potential and I am way over The View!!
