I don't get all the hype
27 September 2019
This entire show is clearly aimed at straight white guys and since i don't fit into that demographic I don't think i understand why people think this is such a great comedy. We live in a golden age of comdey television and someone this is ranked one of the best? Just because the actors dryly shoot out lines as fast as possible doesn't mean what they're actually saying is funny. It's just too low brow for my taste. I really dont get the hype.

Aladdin (2019)

Worst Disney live action remake to date
21 May 2019
The Disney live action remakes typically get a ton of hate. I personally really loved The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Christopher Robin. They take the beloved source material and build upon it to create a movie with more depth and atmosphere. Aladdin somehow gets everything so wrong.

Bad casting, horrible CGI and poor decisions from director Guy Ritchie all around. I honestly don't think the could have casted worst people for the roles of Aladdin, Mad at and Genie. Naomi Scott on the other hand carries this entire film! Her portrayal as Jasmine breathes life into this hollow remake. The new original song will blow you away. Her voice nails the songs we all know and love. Will Smith seems lazy and uneager to fill the shoes of Robin Williams. While Friend Like Me was somewhat enjoyable Prince Ali couldn't be more dull. How Disney butchered this fun and iconic song I'll never know. Could have hired ANYONE else and use the money you saved not bringing on Will Smith and invest in into the CGI. The CGI is the worst you'll see in theaters in this modern age. Disney shouldnt have skimped out on that front, especially for a remake of one of their most popular movies ever. Mena Massoud was a horrendous Aladdin. This loveable and optimistic character is so lifeless. His personality was as closed off as his nips.

How did they get all this so wrong? Please don't waste your money on this even if you're curious to see how this turned out. There's a dozen better movies in theaters right now, even a few better options to give Disney your money still.

So much wasted potential
18 October 2018
This episode was Sarah Paulsons directorial debut and it saddens me that they would have a freshman to direct the single most important episode in AHS history. It should've been a treat to see so many beloved characters return to the show after nearly 8 years but these characters were mostly isolated robbing of the opportunity to see them all interact with each other once more.

Everyone was stoked to see the return of Jessica Lange as one of the most iconic characters in TV from the past decade but it didn't feel like she was giving her best performance and was struggling to imitate the characters original accent. The entire episode just felt very choppy. I wish Sarah Paulson was talented enough as a director to pull off this episode that should've been phenomenal but at the end of the day she just didn't have the experience. She needs to stick to how great of an actress she is.

A Cinematic Achievement!
18 October 2018
Simultaneously beautiful and horrifying. The final 5 minutes will go down as one of the best scenes in television history with a twist ending so satisfying you won't stop thinking about it for weeks.

Kept me on the edge of my seat but still very flawed.
29 September 2014
I haven't been on the edge of my seat while watching a movie in quite a while and watching The Maze Runner definitely reeled me into the experience. Throughout the entire movie I was on the edge of my seat just thinking WTF. The entire movie is shrouded in mystery and unfortunately even after the movie is over and get somewhat of an explanation you will still be wondering what the heck is going on, but they set the movie up that way on purpose to uphold the mystery for the future movies... but I am hoping for some major explanations.

I wouldn't consider this movie one of those mindless action packed movies that Hollywood just loves to pump out. Although the movie didn't explain too much, there is so much to be revealed in the future and that gets me pumped. It's gonna make me come back for more.

The dialogue is very cheesy at times but luckily everything else in the movie makes up for it. During the movie I was so wrapped up in trying to figure out what was going on I didn't think of any plot holes or flaws but they were there. Like how could you damage half metal beasts with a wooden pike? With vines leading to the top of the maze around every corner why not just climb up them to see the maze, seems a lot more efficient than running aimlessly. What's the point of even mapping the maze if it changes every day? How do teenage boys that haven't seen a woman in three years not try to lust after her (although I like that the movie wasn't sexualized at all this did seem very out of place)? Although I would have enjoyed at least some sexual tension between the guys ;) I guess if I read the book it'd hopefully answer some of these logical fallacies.

But at the end of the day when I was watching this movie I was captivated and that is exactly what a movie is supposed to do. I am looking forward to the sequels but I'm seeking a lot of explanations in the future and hopefully the creators try using logic a bit more.

Black-ish (2014–2022)

the stereotype of stereotypes
27 September 2014
This show can easily be summed up: A dad hates being stereotyped by everyone in society and comes home at the end of the day and complains to his entire family that they don't act black enough.... but then he doesn't like people judging him for his skin color.... but wants his family to act black and that just goes in circles and circles and circles. Yes, that is the entire show.

It's sad really, gone are the days we can't have regular sitcoms featuring black families such as Family Matters, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Bill Cosby Show, unless it is on BET. It almost seems as the civil rights movement has taken a step back within the last 20 years when it comes to television. Cause this isn't a sitcom, it's.... well, exactly what I described above. I understand what this show is trying to prove, and quite honestly the concept is very witty. It's just really horribly executed.

I personally think Anthony Anderson and his terrible character completely ruin what could've been a great show. I think the wife, grandpa and oldest son are really funny and bring a lot to the show but no doubt this will be canned and ABC will further continue to search to fill the fourth spot on their iconic Wednesday night sitcom lineup.

Update: I bothered watching the second episode of the show.... well I started the second episode at least. I'm not a prude and hate when TV shows talk about sex but this episode made it unbearably awkward and is an absolutely TERRIBLE choice for the second episode of any show. Again I have to say some of the other characters are likable but Anthony Andersons character really just ruins it for me. Plus he is the last person I want to see shirtless for an entire episode. Advertisements are saying that this is the #1 new comedy for the season, but I think it's just getting views because people are leaving on their tvs after Modern Family. This show is clearly getting horrible reviews.
