Sides (2020)
Striking representation of our society!
Amazing Show!!! A really interesting concept has been touched and discussed in this show. The idea of War, Ideologies and Impact it has on people who take Sides. Even minute things were well thought-out, such as Lights, colours, music etc. This show will make you think about the society we are living in.
My criticism would be that the history of most of the characters were missing. What they were doing was shown, but WHY was not shown. Why characters came to have a particular opinion or why they were taking that particular stand. The characters lacked context.
Room (2015)
Innocently true
'Room" takes you to a different world which is so innocently brought out by the child "Jack" who started thinking that everything out of the Room is out of space and not real. The movie tries to connect with you and you always try to find reasons and meanings of lives of both the characters. For me the best part about the movie was not just when both the characters finally got liberated, but it was how difficult it became for them to connect with the real world after being liberated. The part that drove me to write this review was the fact that the mother tried to commit suicide. And that really moved me and made me think. The movie really does connect to you and even after movie gets over,it remains with you.
House of Cards: Chapter 39 (2015)
The Devil is back!!
The whole episode comes down to the climax scene of Frank and Claire Underwood. And their comes the master at his work. The whole season he underplayed himself, showed the other side of himself but it was this final scene that shows the ruthless, remorseless, power hungry devil,i.e. Frank Underwood. He just took the center-stage and ripped Mrs Underwood off.He showed the level to which he can go to win the presidency. And not to forget Clair Underwood's role and how her character has gone miles in this season.Awards are definitely up for grabs for her this year. The season ended in the perfect way and we are up for one hell of a next season.
House of Cards: Chapter 35 (2015)
A Different Side of Mr.Underwood
One thing can be noticed in some of the previous episodes is another side of Frank Underwood is being shown. In a way,the Presidency is getting to him.The episode starts with his campaign and when people cheer-"Underwood,Underwood",you as viewer, just want to cheer for him.And then the whole Russian troop thing. Its getting more and more intense and it would be very interesting to see how Mr.President responds now as the episode ended at a cliffhanger, excitement has reached to some other level. And obviously I am not expecting a merciful Underwood in future episodes but this whole conundrum situation in Frank Underwood is fascinating to watch.
House of Cards: Chapter 32 (2015)
Mrs Underwood seals the day!!
The President and the First lady/UN Ambassador are on their way to Moscow. The episode fittingly starts with Claire gazing out of the plane window and that has been the real take-away of the show in this season-Role of Claire Underwood. The makers have intelligently improvised on the character of Claire Underwood as she constantly fights her way into the mainstream diplomacy and this episode just takes the cake. The episode was all about how Claire deals with a "stubborn" gay activist in Moscow jail and how she decides to stand for courage irrespective of what repercussions it might have on the deal that the she as well as Frank had been working on for months. And then their was the best dialogue-"I wish I hadn't made you the President." That just sealed the episode for me.Her character has just grown to some other level and it would be really interesting to see her role in subsequent episodes and seasons.
