Giallo (2009)
Hey, this is a GREAT Argento film!
I've read the same reviews you have. About how Argento's heart wasn't in this one. About how it's not a patch on his earlier films.
Well, I don't entirely agree. At all really. Often, but not always those are harsh comments from fans who think an artist should create art in exactly they way they're expected to.
Brody delivers a strong performance, the story is engaging and the baddy is creepily interesting.
But back to Argento... He's directed this beautifully and the camerawork is up there with the very best of his movies...
In fact, I won't go on further other than to say that I feel this one sits about a 3rd of the way down a list of his films. Just watch it and decide for yourself. Personally, I think you're in for a treat, especially if you've read about how mediocre it is.
L'étrange couleur des larmes de ton corps (2013)
Masterpiece
This dreamlike gem is wonderful and has become an all time favourite for me. Any fan of gialli and/or psychedelic, arty, trippy cinema will likely enjoy this. A great experience to found here. Watch it. Buy it. Watch it again.
Mandy (2018)
One of the best movies of the decade.
How refreshing! I wasn't sure they made movies like this anymore. I was glued to the screen throughout. The score is delicious and Cage gives the performance of his career.
