The Orville (2017)
What happened to the writing in S3?
There seems to be too big of tonal shift in seriousness between S3 vs 1-2, everything is now too serious and preachy, whilst the overall look of the show has that "not super serious" (hammy/parody) look about it still (a serious performer wearing a clown outfit and wondering why people are expecting jokes).
And what was with the new ensign? (killing her character was an absolute blessing) The show already canned one great character just to give her a small cameo in the last episode (presumably to win some points back with the audience as they sign off for the season), what the hell are you doing Seth?
Season 1-2 had it's up and downs but it was pretty special (i had it at 7/10 which is still good), S3 whilst upping the visuals was really let down in the writing department.
Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable (2021)
It's ok, there are amusing bits here and there.
You could certainly watch worse, but the show tries(A for effort) to be funnier than it delivers on being. Mel's comedy falls flat and the odd "bits" they sling into the show (presumably to be weird/quirky) just come off pointless, mic on a stick, flying stuff in on a drone, the weird negative point system (noone is really confused by it or finding it super funny).
Not sure if it's the writers, mel's hosting, both or something else, but it's all a bit .. eh... (i could take it or leave it, hence the 5/10, i watch all the same).
Just amusing myself over until cats, taskmaster or wilty come back on.
Wu Assassins (2019)
Last air bender meets fast and furious.
Decent cast, camera work and premise(subjectively), let down by poor delivery, terrible dialogue and questionable(but passable) special effects. The characters and their actions come across as something straight out of a fast and furious movie but without enough context for it to make much sense(unless you think like a teenager).
I'm being generous with the 5, it's not's all bad(i've seen enough bad), it looks nice(mostly) and some of the cast do deliver in their roles despite what they've been given to work with (not at all times, but they do shine in some scenes).
Warrior has it's flaws but delivers a better quality of entertainment, i have my issues with that show to, but they're minor by comparison.
The action is mostly enjoyable(and probably the best part of this show), but somewhat ruined by terrible dialogue during or after.
Don't go believing the 10/10 bots (check their profile, registered 1-2 days), it's becoming cheap to buy praise but kinda of sad to.
