I wonder if this story could be westernised, the main subject matter is very blubber material that I think Asians handle better than Westerners. Especially Chinese who have distinct times of the year to visit one's ancestors graves, there are side stories of a common Korean subject, orphans and the other of course, long lasting friendships. But I forget which episode, there is what appears to be fatal car crash which is never explained, was it lost in translation? But otherwise, great story telling that took one on an emotional roller coaster ride on each episode. I will need to watch another show with the lead actress Son Ye Jin in it.

Another Park Eun Bin Vehicle
20 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Park Eun Bin is the reason we watched this series and we weren't disappointed. It really showboats her talents, singing and a fairly able guitar player. Another moorish show, which is hard not to binge watch but you better have spare couple of days, 12 episodes and up to an 1hr 20min per episode. Like most Asian acting, it can get a lil' cartoonish, ie: real actors an act like cartoon characters, like Hollywood did before the late 60's. But the story covers the whole gambit, from domestic violence, to suicidal thoughts and dreams of greatness. A Korean drama show that's worth your time watching till the end, "if you wish hard enough, it will come true ".
Extraordinary Attorney Woo

So Moorish, Just Can't Put It Down.
2 March 2024
I can see an American production company picking this story up, basically, the "Good Doctor", with a female lead as a lawyer instead of a doctor and a law firm instead of a hospital. Excellent Korean production with good actors and great stories, even though only two episodes in, but be warned, each episode over an hour long. The story would easily transfer to any American law firm with the characters easily westernised as the stories are very human and pull at the heart strings. The lead actress plays her part with very compelling realism of someone with the disability of autism but connects in her own direct way with every day people.

Another Surprisingly Good Spanish Drama
19 November 2023
I've only recently come across Spanish TV production and I'm surprised how good they are. Well written and produced, dubbing can sometimes make the acting a lil' out of tune, but it's easily overlooked. All the acting is very good otherwise and it's good that they use the same dubbed voices for actors that one sees in other productions. This particular TV production has normal 40min lengths and is only 6 episodes, so is easily binge watched because it is had to stop once started. So ensure you have a free afternoon or evening and you won't be disappointed, it will be well worth your time. It will be just a matter of time before an English/American production takes up one of the Spanish stories and runs with it.

Surprisingly Addictive
9 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Each character has more than one facet, like others I find the grandfather's character based on Grand Torino's Clint Eastwood, which is no bad thing. Sometimes the acting seems too corny with the dubbing, but the writing tries to add a twist each episode, which are unusually long at 1hr 10-15min. It's the first Spanish TV production I've followed and it's very well produced with no expense spared. It's really a adult themed soap opera, with a little sex, violence and drugs thrown in. The story line needs a pinch of salt from time to time, like the hardware store keeps very few hours with the lead character taking advantage of seista more than most. But we'll worth the time.
