May the Best Wedding Win (2023)
What did I just sort of watch?
Thoroughly confused that they kept playing what sounded like the Sanford and Son theme song throughout the film. Threw me off every time it was played.
I've had carry friends, but there is no way I would EVER allow someone like the uptight main character invade my space. I wouldn't allow her to manage my career (or whatever their company allegedly did), to be a work partner or to be a friend.
The whole "with friends like these who needs enemies" phrase comes to mind.
She was so wholly unlikable, I couldn't stand to watch the entire movie.
Pretty sure I'd rather see a movie with the aweet, slightly boring other main female character and her fiancé.
Eat, Love, London (2023)
Just......no
The lead actress's adorable looks didn't help the acting. Or maybe it was the writing? I've not seen her in anything else to compare. I don't understand the purpose of dressing her and doing her hair as if she were a child. Well, I guess that it closely matches the way her character was written. I wondered the entire time it was on, if a different actress wouldn't have sounded so whiny and spoiled? Came the resounding conclusion, that it was 8% the bad writing and 92% the terrible acting. If this were real life, I would not want to be her friend.
It's very rare that I don't finish a movie, but I couldn't see the point in finishing this. I feel like the look on my face may have ended up there permanently had I watched the entire film.
The scenery was nice.
There was also zero chemistry between the two leads.
My One True Love (2022)
Friends?
It was an average off brand rom com. The main characters best friends were anything but.
They were demeaning, dismissive, and jerks. Especially the one that the main character was rooming with. They treated her like a teenager that couldn't be trusted because of past bad decisions. They basically pumped her out, made her feel bad for not being married with kids by her age (30, btw) and when she was making a career decision they tried to make her change her mind. They made me so angry and I almost turned it off. But I didn't, go figure!
The premise was good, both of the main characters were likable.
Christmas Belle (2013)
Holy moly
This was, by far, the worst "Christmas" movie I've ever seen.
I love a cheesy movie. I love a cheesy Christmas movie.
But...but...this was just crap.
The main dude was just an ass. Not a wounded man that lashed out, and was changed by the love and support of a wonderful partner, but an actual bad person.
The villain was just stupid. Just dumb. Suuure a guy like would be chasing after someone who doesn't give him the time of day. Ever heard of dating apps, friend?
The dad, a jerk.
The main gal was meh.
And how is it the diner owner already wanted Lizzie McGuire sister to stay and become BFFs after serving her one meal?
Give all the breaks.
Everything, everyone, the overbearing music, the writing, the acting, just: ugh. So dumb.
