I remember being blown away by Cars when I took my 6-year-old son to see it in 2006; we watched the DVD so much that we had most of the lines memorized by the time he was 7.
But Cars 2 left us flat, and our local paper gave Cars 3 only 2 out of 4 stars, so I didn't expect much.
But today I took my now-17-year-old son to Cars 3 and loved it! I laughed a lot (so did he) and almost cried a couple of times because it was so touching. Some beautiful symmetry between Cars and Cars 3, as well as within the new story itself.
