Very lovely Christmas movie!
23 November 2022
This was a really nice feel good Christmas movie. Nice simple story, and all the decorations and music really lift your spirit into the festive Christmas mood. Lindsay Lohan was great, and she fits this sort of movie like a glove. I was also surprised at how lovely she looks! All the cast were great.

I wish there weren't so many required characters to add a little mini review. I just wanted to write a paragraph, but that wasn't enough. So I added this additional one. I simply wanted to tell people that this movie is a good one to watch with the family or alone. I need to find a lodge like North Star!

X (II) (2022)
Great casting and 70s feel
1 November 2022
I loved this movie, and thought it was awesome! It had a really nice old school 70s feel, and the featured music was also a very nice touch.

The casting was especially good in my opinion. The "movie crew" actors were all really great picks, and the makeup/clothes made it feel like these people were pulled straight out of 1979. The hairstyles were well done too.

I was surprised at how good this was, as I was just cruising Amazon Video and noticed it. The decent IMDB rating compelled me to watch it.

All in all I rate it as an excellent horror. It was also nice to see some more nudity beyond the typical slasher productions we see lately.

Confusing IMDB rating makes no sense
20 August 2022
I thought this movie was awesome! It was an edge of your seat thriller which I thoroughly enjoyed. I kept putting off watching it as it was one of those movies sitting on my Netflix watchlist for a while. Having said that, I am dumbfounded at the low rating on IMDB.

Every once in a while I will watch a movie with a peculiarly low rating, only to find it was a hidden gem. This was one of those movies.

Downsizing (2017)
Kind of depressing
17 August 2022
I found this movie to be a strange ride. It started off interesting, but it felt like it was drifting aimlessly at times. The domineering Vietnamese character's sudden large part was a big question mark to me.

Honestly I found the entire idea of shrinking people to be a little dangerous and not something of an mad scientist's idea. Why on earth and would anyone do this to themselves is all I cound think of, despite any so called benefits. It just seemed like a stupid idea to begin with, and depressing in the end knowing you are living in an artificial bubble city.

Given that, the acting was great. One actor in particular is Christopher Waltz, who is so convincing that you think any role you see him in is his "normal" self. If you watch his performance in the movie Tulip Fever, you would never know it's the same actor as he is literally the polar opposite.

Found myself cringing a lot and fast forwarding parts
27 July 2022
Let me just say this -- the problem with movie was not the acting. The actors, especially Anne Hathaway were terrific. My problem with this movie was the many tediously long and pointless scenes during the dinner rehearsal and post-wedding party. I think the screenwriter got very confused at times, and perhaps was inventing ad they went. Especially the wedding party, like we need to make this movie longer so let"s just insert some expanded footage of dancing sequences.

Additionally:

The seemingly amateurish wedding musicians became very annoying when it was apparent these guys will be playing non stop over the entire weekend, as though they thought they were being impressive with their boring tunes.

I hope they didn't keep any of the "deleted scenes" in this movie, as sitting through those would be a painstaking exercise.

There were a lot of cringe worthy moments in this film. I found myself having to fast forward a lot of the wedding party scenes until there was some dialogue.

I enjoyed the addict story concept, but there was too much other noise that it felt like it was a side story at times.

Dog Pound (2010)
Great movie with some loose ends

I loved this movie. Thought it was very edge of you seat. Although the directing seemed to be a little disorganized, and losing connection with some of the main characters like the initial bully who seemingly disappeared halfway through the movie.

In any case, the actors on this flick were really incredible. Especially the lead (guy who attacked the correctional officer in the opening scenes) and the bully working in the kitchen who who purposely spilt hot food on his hand in the early part of the movie. These two guys were amazing actors.

What a cast! Spectacular movie, and my favorite of all films about Jesus Christ.

The Promise (II) (2016)
Amazing movie of an incredible story

God bless all the people who made this fill possible. Not just for the Amermenian genocide perpetrated by the Turks, but for the Greeks and Assyria s also.

On another note, it it completely insane how there are so many 1 star reviews on a movie of this caliber. I guess it helps reveal the evil is still alive to this day when it comes to this subject.

What an awesome movie!
15 November 2005
I was blown away by this film. Not just a great horror film, but an amazing movie overall. The acting throughout was incredible. William Forsythe was a perfect fit for this part -- heck, all the actors were perfect fits for their roles. The music, oh man, I am going to have to buy me the soundtrack to this one. My hats off to Rob Zombie. I loved the first flick, and this one didn't let me down. This was certainly one of the best movies to come out in a long time. I was literally glued to the screen from start to finish. I hope Rob Zombie makes more movies like this, he definitely is a talented individual. This is one of those movies that you want to own on DVD. I wasn't a big Rob/White Zombie fan before watching his movies, but I am now.
