RuPaul's Drag Race: See You Next Wednesday (2024)
Perfect episode; all correct decisions
This was a perfect episode. The queens who deserved to be in the top were in the top, and the bottoms all deserved to be in the bottom. The queen in the bottom three who was safe deserved to be safe. Despite a lot of criticism, the queen who won the lip sync absolutely deserved to win. It wasn't even close; if we're judging on overall season performance, then yes, it should go the other way. This is the 16th season and the criteria has been well established. Slay the lip sync; shantay you stay. That is what happened here, plain and simple. I don't see how there's an argument for the other queen to win, regardless of past performance. Same situation as last week.
LOL: Last One Laughing Canada (2022)
You had me at Orin Isaacs
They really nailed it with a good mix of Canadian legends and up-and-comers; as a big fan of comedy I recognized all of the contestants. Super fun show, really interesting to see all of their different comedy styles compete on a single level on a silly, lighthearted, nonsensical show. Pure fun and hilarity. Can't wait for the next episodes!
Roast Battle Canada (2021)
Roasted
The good: In general the roasts are great, and K Trevor Wilson and Russell Peters are consistently hilarious. Lots of great jokes from the judges and the host as well.
The bad: I often shake my head at who they pick as the winner. Some battles could go either way but some are pretty one-sided and they pick the weak side. It's frustrating when the judges unanimously agree on the best joke of the night, especially when there are better jokes to choose from. It seems lazy and I wish they'd spread the spotlight around.
