The Funhouse (1981)
8/10
Fun Horror film, but nothing that special.

I just watched The Funhouse for the first time today. It is a fun horror film, that makes good use of the environment that it is set in. Although it is not a very scary, or gory film, it does provide a creepy atmosphere throughout the entire running time. The main characters are likable, and the villain's are decent. The film has some good practical makeup effects, and the mutated monster guy looks pretty cool. The score for the film, which is a classical style score is great, and probably the best part of this movie. It was an entertaining film that I would recommend to avid horror fans. The Funhouse is mid tier Tobe Hooper, along the same lines as Eaten Alive. If you are just getting into Tobe Hooper's films, I would recommend The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist, and Salems Lot, Which are all great films !!
