Do not waste your time on this!
27 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is utterly bad. Acting is HORRIBLE and that goes for all actors. The plot is totally meaningless and the monsters are so damn ridiculous I can't believe. The movie is very very slow on proceeding and trying to get anywhere. The acting especially is so unbelievably bad I don't know how are these people picked up to this movie.

I don't know what is the worst in this movie but the plot is so useless. I mean what was the point of that patient in the hospital? what is the point of that neighbor who came in? "It's an old Russian legend?"

And where on earth did they live, where you have to leave your car "half a mile from the house", why!!

Do not waste your time on this!

Excellent music! Excellent musicians!
12 September 2006
Before seeing this film I didn't even know that choro music existed and I was surprised how much I enjoyed hearing and seeing this film. Few of the guitarist were simply amazing!

This movie showed to me how relaxed the Brazilian people are and how much they love their music. The scene in theater where the whole audience was singing (with Yamandu), that really was a chilling scene, in a highly positive way! Also it was interesting to hear the viewpoint from the older musicians as well as the younger generation.

That Yamandu guy is a brilliant brilliant guitarist. I didn't even know this kind of guy existed previously. You should really see this film and his guitar work, it's amazing.

I can really recommend this film if you like Brazilian way of life and their music.
