I have no axe to grind here, and no special outlook on the subject either for or against. Lots of the other reviews will tell you about the content. I'll just add that as a gal in her late 50s, having watched or read related material since In Search Of... in the 1970s, I think this was a really well done show and has its own contributions to make. I really, really enjoyed 'meeting' all of these people and contemplating what their experience (mostly after the fact) has been like. I thought there was plenty of 'evidence' here because people's stories should matter to the rest of us.

I would love to see more output from the team that made this.

It took me a while to get through seasons 1-7, I spread out shows so I'll have something good left to watch. :) I thought the wrapup with Jimmy was well done, and of course wasn't sure what to expect with season 8. I have liked Ashley Jensen in other things so knew it would at least meet my minimum requirements. But it also surpassed my expectations a bit - I like how Tosh has grown, I'm very thankful that Billy and Sandy are still there, and like the other constable, I don't know his name. I thought the women blended together well, and somehow things seemed a little less dark and ugly, which was good too. If any writers or producers are reading this, I want to say that I just think we cannot have a race to the bottom with grotesque scenarios. The ugliness that can hide in the human heart is about enough!

I look forward to more, and I think and hope the new mix will meet the minimum expectations of others, too.

Other reviews (those with 6 stars and above) have already done a good job of explaining what's going on here. I too would like to see more movies like this made. I thought the acting was good, the story just interesting enough without adding so much detail that you get lost. A little romance, a lot of friendship. No one being very ugly. I'm a huge mystery fan - books and movies and shows. Most mystery fans would enjoy the light treatment and the acting. And the scenery of course! I loved getting some exposure to Polish society, and their humor and their actors. Thanks Netflix, keep doing these productions in other countries, so many have been good. It's great to step out of so much America-centric media.

I've watched 20 or more of these movies like some of you have. I liked this one for feeling more about a friendship developing between the leads vs. 'romance' per se. They're both a pleasure to watch, not too saccharine and not so pretty like is often the case, they look more like real people. The supporting actors are a pleasure, too. Sweet to see Naomi Judd. Other reviewers said they've rewatched, I may do so too.

I agree with most of the positive reviews here, and most of the negative ones to some extent! It's got some flaws with overacting of a staged sort of feeling. But I like it and hope to see more. Ati is a super, straightforward role model type. I like the rest of them too including their 'everything' carpenter.

I SUPER-agree with the reviewer who suggested getting this to the level of helping more people, who have less to start with. With these reno shows it makes you think, Wow with that budget, what could they have done for a lot more people. The focus on crowding and lack of privacy is so good.

These stories are just the right 'weight' to me. Some spooky aspects, but almost always, a lot of time has passed since these people experienced their events, and they're pretty circumspect by now and have neat conclusions about what was the purpose or conclusions to draw.

Most of these people are used to conveying drama, so at first you might think, Oh, so they're putting on. In most cases - not really! I find them fascinating, and love watching these reruns. Was happy to see that a few of the other reviews are written 10+ years after the show was produced, like mine is. Really recommended. Additional kudos to the people who did the visuals that illustrate the stories. I'd love to talk to some of the folks who worked on this show. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for making this show, I really like it. Maybe eps 2 and 3 aren't as great as ep 1 like the other reviewer stated, I couldn't say because I'm learning a lot of stuff. I was a kid/teen during all of this BUT STILL, why wasn't I paying attention more back then. I was definitely paying attention to the music all the time, though, always liked rap and hip hop even though I couldn't find any friends that did. So at least I was somewhat tuned in. I really like all of the different speakers, and the flow of how the show's produced seems very good to me. I have yet to watch ep 4.

If you're considering watching it, definitely do!

I forget if I saw this back when it came out, pretty sure I did. There's not much here that you would carry with you for long. :) But for what they were doing, all of this nonsense was really well done. I don't think the scenes with cows would get made these days... people sensitive to harming animals, just be ready for stuff happening to cows, but they're also very evidently fake, hope that helps. There are some really good gags and verbal exchanges. If you're up for something silly I recommend it!

For a few years now I've been making a long-overdue effort to understand some realities of First Nation experience. I like finding these stories that I feel the actors and crew themselves are telling. In 2022, this is quite an old movie now! The acting and production can be uneven, the story isn't very rich in detail. But I'm glad I watched it! Again, because it's a story that these people wanted to tell vs. Some big company with shareholders deciding. It was a little bit of a trial to watch, but I'm glad I did. I have slightly more understanding now. I'm sad that the older actor in this group is gone now. He seemed lovely.

..with no murders. I think a good mystery series should always have some good, plain intrigue and not always violence!

Love this series, I hope it continues.

I was interested. It was a pretty good story. It was just a little too disgusting for me. The Ken and Barbie characters added too much of a Quentin Tarantino flavor for me. I feel like the story could've actually floated without them. Great acting from all quarters. 6.5.

I saw the season called All or Nothing first, which I really liked, so that kind of spoiled me for other seasons. I wasn't all that interested in the story or the characters of this season, but I really liked every single actor, so that kind of pulled me through. 6.5 stars.

I've watched two other seasons (storylines/casts) and this is my favorite. Plan to watch it again. :) A few different threads going on at the same time, good stories and good actors.

It has a 5.7 rating at this time, I don't get that! This was almost all new information to me, I'm glad I watched it. There are 1,000 stories under the sun, but it seems that too many of us are busy not listening to this story. Just listening, just hearing. I found his style of presentation and speaking easy to take.. about a bunch of things I didn't want to know. So that's a great job in my book.

I like this show and have been watching for a few years. But I have to agree, this ep stood out a bit! I was sort of on the edge of my seat. Came here to look up the various actors, a few of them really stood out, too. Nice one, folks!

I started watching this show because the producer and one of the leads were involved in The Almighty Johnsons, a favorite of mine. Find it if you can!

As another reviewer said, you can see the caring and cooperation that went into the movie. There's only moderate acting talent. I thought the young boy did well, but it seems he didn't act on screen again since then. Big props for a story that doesn't center around whether a couple gets together! Th film is a little painful to abide here and there, but I'm not sorry I watched it.

Since I can't add a Goof to the list, I'll add here one that I noticed! At 4:45 time she is walking into her office. The sign says Oceanwood publishers, her narration says Oceanside publishers. :)

Almost all of the other reviews are a few years old and are hankering for it, I just ran across it for the first time. You can find it on ..you..tube. Only part-way through, I can tell this is my kind of movie! Fun to see A. McCarthy in something so sweet and tame. Julie Harris has such a beautiful voice to listen to.

6.5 It's a pretty good story, but I think all of the acting is just moderate. However I've watched it two times over the years and can probably watch it another. :)

Just adding to other reviews, they cover the story and whether entertaining (I thought it was). Something I liked was how it wasn't perfectly PC, it's only little stuff but someone over 50 like me would probably also notice. I liked the subtle and realistic use of city/northern expressions :) like 'knock yourself out.' All of the acting was pretty good, I agree that HH went a little cheesy sometimes and you might've liked to poke the kid for whining.

I rewatch episodes every few months - the show is that good - and when flipping through today, I only just noticed this little Christmas/year-end gift! With the two-person exchange it moved a little fast for me, but it was so good. Loved the gags, the wordplay, everything, like always. We can't wait to have all of you back, cheers!

This is just the 'weight' I like in police/murder mysteries. It's a bit edgy without being grotesque. The acting is all good, the characters likable or unlikeable to their realistic degrees. :) I liked the story portrayed, and how it wrapped up. The episode length is nice, too, sometimes I want a 90-minute show but these are easy to fit in and watch two without staying up too late.

Hoping to see more!

I'm not a die-hard follower of these guys, but enjoy them both. The other actors were really good, too. Well-done, engaging story line. We'd welcome more!
