Oh DEAR
17 November 2019
I recorded this off the TV. I'm half an hour in and I'm giving up. If they'd stuck to just the storyline of a stalker, that'd be okay. I know the mum from Supernatural (she played Madison who had a quick fling with Sam), the daughter is a beautiful girl and though the acting is a bit hammy, it's watchable. It's the woman cop that ruins it. I mean, is she a joke? Talk about cringeworthy. She's every cliche you'd think of in an old, small-town, donut eating male police officer... but in a craggy looking female. I don't know if it was deliberate, or she just REALLY can't act so overdid it to compensate, but it's a no from me! Well done lady, you've ruined this film and made it unwatchable!

God it's boring!
5 November 2019
40mins in and about to switch it off. I'm just one of those people, if a movie hasn't gripped me or at least made me mildly interested or intrigued by this point it's being switched off. This is boring as hell! It's a shame because I liked the mum in 'Being Erica'. This is rubbish though.

Take my advice and don't bother
5 November 2019
Half an hour in, can barely see anything because it's constantly dark, the main girl is a sulky teen and the kid is a monosyllabic bore. I was doing something else at the same time and forgot I was even trying to watch it, didn't get my attention at all and I switched off about half an hour in. Not worth wasting your time on!

Awful

Very hard to watch, but my main problem was with the blonde woman who looks like Katie Hopkins' twin sister! Her love interest is a suave, good looking guy and his interest in her doesn't ring true from the start! Sorry to be shallow, but that was my take-away from this rubbish film!!

Watch the original, not this!
27 October 2019
I had the original of this movie on VHS and watched it several times. The cast were so great at their roles. Tori Spelling was perfect as the b*tchy, over-confident, most popular girl at school. And Kellie Martin was outstanding as mousy Angela who you feel there is something "off" about from the very start. Her over-enthusiasm, obsession with Stacey and desperation to be part of the in-crowd. The whole film just works!

This remake casts actors who look about 40 playing the teenagers, there is no character development and if they were trying to pretend it was the 80s they were WAY off the mark! The other element I didnt appreciate was trying to make us feel pity for the Stacy character. Tori's portrayal showed us a very unlikeable person who bullied anyone who she felt was beneath her (most people), and you feel sympathy towards Kellie's character and can see how she snapped (although obviously nobody deserved to die). This remake tries to make us sympathise with the wrong person. So bullies have a tough life away from their victims... so do plenty of people who dont go out and bully others!

All in all, this film is not worth it if you've seen the original, it just doesnt compare!! If you've not seen the original, watch that. Not this remake!!

So Boring
8 October 2019
Skips back and forth in time. Unlikeable characters and not the best acting. Didn't care enough to watch the whole thing, so I read a spoiler and switched it off! If you like confusion and bad acting then go for it I guess.

No no NO!!
2 February 2019
Gave it one star only because zero stars isn't possible. It's all been said about the rest of the movie, but lets skip to the ending shall we? What in God's name was that? Did the DVD get switched before the end and a Disney movie get put in? None of the rest of the movie is worth being hit with that corny, fantasy, family-film ending, with some of the worst CGI I've seen in a modern, so-called great movie! Just don't do it. Leave it where it is and walk away, trust me!

This is NOT young Norman or Norma
2 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Although well made and well acted, and although I like Vera Farmiga... this bored me and by epsiode 4 I gave up. I just don't get it. Most of the storylines are unnecessary, Norma killing a guy, some ill girl liking Norman and him liking the beautiful girl (who really wouldn't have gone for geeky Norman in real life), it's all just silly. I thought I'd be watching a creepy prelude to how Norman became so messed up and scary, and how awful Norma was for him to end up killing her and hearing her berating him so often. I'm getting none of this, this little kid is not creepy, just awkward. Norma is not a monster, she's alright. Not a perfect mother, but not disturbing in any way. I'm not sure why this has the amazing reviews it has, but I'm just saying, read a mixture of reviews. Don't just go by the ones praising it.

What The Hell Was That?
4 January 2019
First impressions: The main girl looks like a 40 year old crack addict! Okay, got that off my chest. The movie plods along, a lot of it set in a dingy room with our girl "Lola" gurning at the camera in her Bridget Jones underpants, fake laughing and talking to the thirsty men who lap up the rubbish. The actual meat of the movie, the stolen identity, doesn't even happen until later on. And then it just meanders all over the place. What I come away with is it's DARK, no, not in the good way, in the lack of light way. Dark, dingy, the girl is annoying and hard to look at, and the plot is all over the place. I wouldn't bother!! I gave it three stars because I like the social media aspect of it, that part is relatable. The rest is not worth the time!
