Bait (2014)
Terrible. No suspense, no scares, just stupid
The first 5 minutes starts off okay, a little slow but good production value, decent dialog. It all goes down hill from there. 35 minutes into it and nothing's happening.
Eventually, the violence starts, but it's so unrealistic and over the top, it's not believable, even within the context of the story.
The violence is really fake too, with everyone getting beat to bloody hell, then walking around sporting a couple band-aids, like they are super-human. Sometimes, even the physics stand out as obviously wrong.
This movie is frankly stupid. As it drags on, even the dialog and filming goes downhill, as if the crew realized just what a bad a movie they were making and gave up on it.
Normally, I try to finish bad movies so I can leave a complete review, but with this one after an hour I had to fast-forward through most of it.
The only reason I gave it two stars in the actors seemed to be trying with what little they were given.
Adolf Hitler: The Greatest Story Never Told (2013)
Antisemtic
This almost had me for the first 45 minutes or so. Sure, didn't have anywhere the production value I expected from a film with an 8.6 IMDb rating (as of 4/19/15), and some of the scenes looked as if they were stolen from other movies or documentaries--but still is seemed to be both neutral and in-depth; hard to find in a documentary about Hitler. Even if some of Hilter's atrocities and power grabs seemed to be overlooked.
Turns out it was just a ruse to draw you in, until they uncover the "truth" of WW1--Germany lost it because of the Jews. And the little known "fact" the the Jews of the world conspired to take down Germany long before Hitler turned against them.
I don't know what else to say really. It distorts facts, makes it look like Hitler was trying to protect the Jews and it is frankly antisemitic.
If you are a Neo-Nazi, holocaust denier, or simply hate Jews in general, then this "documentary" was made just for you.
If you are looking for a real documentary on Hitler's raise to power look elsewhere.
Frankly this thing should be banned--not because it's hate speech; we have to put up with that in a free society--but because it pirates so many other's works.
Bee Sting (2014)
Simply Terrible
I only made it through the first 20 minutes. It was agonizing to watch. I really enjoy low budget movies and don't mind bad sets, audio, even mediocre acting. But this movie had nothing going for it.
The best thing I could say was the writing was okay, with one or two funny one liners. The rest of it was terrible. The acting was bad, even for a zero-budget movie. I'm used to seeing pretty faces with no talent, but it seemed as if they just picked random people off the streets. The audio was poor, as were the sets. The makeup looked like it was done by my 8 year old daughter. I hate to write such a negative review, but I can't figure where all the high rating for this title are coming from (it has a 7.7 as I write this).
Don't waste you time. There's no hidden gem here.
Zombieworld (2015)
Fun for Zombie Lovers
The problem this movie has is that it's going to get 1-star drive-by ratings by all the Christians who wore offending by the Christ scene, even if they haven't actually watched the movie (I say this as a Christian who thought it was funny).
This movie is better than 80 or 90 percent of the low budget zombie flicks out there. Sure it's not high art, but it's funny and original, even if somewhat uneven.
The movie is divided into scenes, woven together under the guise of a news broadcast. Some are Funny, others original, a few are duds.
Overall, it's well worth your time IF you are a zombie lover. If not, it wasn't even made for you.
