Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)
Checklist incomplete
I'm an old school fan of Godzilla and have been decently happy with the Kong and Godzilla movies of late. I had pretty high hopes for this show but have felt let down after each episode.
I kinda feel like Jeff Goldbloom in jurrasic park watching this. There are dinosaurs on your dinosaur tour, right? The answer is no, you get a minute or two of creatures and the rest feels like an ad for the GAP. You will likely find yourself asking, "what is happening" like the old lady on always sunny throughout the episodes.
It's a show of today, written by a committee with a long list of check boxes that NEED to be included in this show. I wish cool monsters were on that list.
Gully (2019)
Actors
I enjoyed this movie. A lot was being said but not in a way I think the majority of people will appreciate. The acting was awesome
Thank you to all those involved. You made something amazing and its tragic that it's not appreciated more. Damn good!
Moon Knight (2022)
Boring
I love Marvel and DC, but we're getting a lot of shows they're beautiful but hollow. I like the actors, they're doing a good job, visuals are amazing, locations are great...but it's boring,
I've tried to watch the show five separate times since it came out and I get through an episode and then it's weeks before I watch another one because it's so boring. I just checked.. I'm on episode four and I started watching this show when it came out.
10 minutes and I can't take any more, I don't care.
The reason it's boring is because the writing is terrible. Just like WandaVision. I've heard the last episodes are great but I couldn't make it past three because... we'll, I've got only one life.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
Delivery
The pizza delivery scene was bada$$. I love a long cut.. frankly that agent did work
I was better and more believable than wick
Dude was badass.
I focus on that but the episode was amazing! So many amazing moments.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Ghosts of Illyria (2022)
Star Trek hell yeah!
This was the most Star Trek, Star Trek ep in a long time. This show is damn good and this episode was fantastic
We're so lucky to have this. Thank you to all involved in making this happen!
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Great movie. I hate people
So you make actors sign in NDA and for years they can't talk about something but your stupid ass ad people ruin it the first chance they get? What?, to sell tickets? Whoever OKd that is a donkey brained dumbA mf'r.
Plain old stupid is what you are
Typical.
Hawkeye (2021)
Great show! Don't sit through the credits
This was a great show!
Buuut, if you like daredevil you'll be disappointed. They wasted an opportunity and then made a strong character look extra week. He would have beat her to death
Then, the final creds..after the Fisk letdown you're hopping for a Wow teaser. Zero, nothing.
It's weird, most of these have a little bit of something that makes you curious. There's nothing here
In the end it's easily on par with the other marvel tv shows. Totally worth your time, unlike wanda wision.
Dune (2021)
Pretty (comma?) Boring
Damn the graphics are great! The big ships were done right. Red rising is the closest.
Watched the old movie when I was a kid. This is the sameish
Read half the book. Same... except Jessica. Why do we cast kids as grown ups? She's supposed to be some old powerful highly trained so and so. No hate against the actor or portrayal but the casting. Huh? (I actually do know, we all do. $¥£)
I watched it twice because my buddies were taking up this scene and that. I felt bad. Damn, I missed half a movie.. No. Turns out it's just as boring the second time.
Hollow.
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
Damn good
Fun action flick, great cast, lotsa blood, shootin, and some ass whoopin. There's some good fight scenes, legit fight scenes. (I couldn't watch birds of prey because the fight scenes were so bad). This movie is going to be some kid's Commando or some Stallone flick. How awesome!
The Tomorrow War (2021)
A full movie
To be honest it was a slow start, but it's completely worth it. It's a good movie. With some really great, what I call Battleship moments. I love when a movie has lines or actions that Normal people would do. In doing that this movie feels more real. People reacting in the ways we would. It felt good and it has a lot of content.
Better than a lot of sci-fi - check.
Story - good enough (I mean, really an untold completely unique story is rare) It does a good job of combining classic (*****) into a great time.
It's a good story. Do it.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Don't do it
This physically hurt to watch. A few minutes in and I was already suffering, but figured maybe I've just got the wrong attitude. Pause, walk away, and resume.
I love Dc and think Harley is awesome. (Animated series was great and Suicide Squad was pretty damn good) I can sit through most movies and with being stuck in quarantine I figured this would be a fun actiony comedy. It is not..or was not. I only made it 30 minutes and felt what little is left of my soul leaving my body. It's cheese and not in the good way. Fight scenes have so many cuts in them you may have a seizure. The narration was positively unfunny, more cringe or plain boring than anything. My eyes still haven't recovered from the amount of rolling they've done.
My favorite part in the 30 minutes I was able to sit through was watching a sandwich get made.
I'm trying to think of a movie that would induce more suffering than giving that one another try...I honestly can't. I even checked the IMDb worst 100 movies..I'd watch them all before I subjected myself to the remain 100 minutes
Atlanta: Teddy Perkins (2018)
Damn!
That was an awesome one. It's hard to guess what you'll get with each episode of this show, but I love how it feels when I'm watching. Teddy was a standout with its weirdness which I really dug. Thank you for an amazing show. It's not like anything else out there and I can relate to it in a way which doesn't happen with tv like it can with a movie..if that makes sense.
