Not Much About History
By movie standards, the movie is a great one in terms of plot writing and acting, but it has some serious historical inaccuracies.
Supergirl (2015)
What a Great Job!
This show manages to bring the comics character to life. It does so with attention to detail and of course Benoist's amazing performance. It's comparable to Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman performance. A great series.
Sick Note (2017)
A Really Good Show
Similar to many other black comedies, like Insatiable on Netflix, This show combines both the thrills of a crime show with the laughs of comedy. The second season is by far the best thing Lindsay Lohan has been on since Freaky Friday.
Insatiable (2018)
A Great Expose of Human Nature
Insatiable's Patty Bladell is a high school girl. Her body becomes accidentally thin, and so she becomes a princess. Typical everyday narrative, when you're accepted only if you adhere to societal notions. This is the Season 1 line.
Season 2, however, explores the dark side of innocent Patty. We see her killing six people, and we root for her. Everytime it seems right to support her. Well, the instinct of life perseverance does have a part here. Yet, by the season finale Patty reveals it to us: She killed because she could and wanted. After all, she had other choices every time but she opted for killing. That is how scary we humans can be. It's in our nature, that every fault that goes unpunished makes us grow more careless about righteousness.
The Parent Trap (1998)
Best Memory I Have
I was born in 1998, the same year this movie was released. When I grew old enough to watch TV, and afterwards with the advent of Internet culture, I came to celebrate my birthday by watching The Parent Trap. I think it's the stunning talent of Lindsay Lohan, coupled with a great script and a suitable cast and crew, that made the movie such a gem. Everytime I watch it, I remember how I enjoyed every scene at first time. By now, I know every line by heart, but still enjoy each of them. The handshake is one of my most favorite scenes. I also like the way the movie turns the quiet sad theme of separation into an additional problem of trivial nature. No one could have pulled it off better than Lohan, playing the twins. At first time, I thought she was a twin herself.
Georgia Rule (2007)
Let's Stop Underestimating Lohan
I watched this movie after years of seeing Lohan in some of the best movies I ever so, notably The Parent Trap and Mean Girls, and it felt like a downer. Yet, coming to see the movie itself without comparison to previous Lohan works, I can safely say that it's at least better than I thought. I mean, yes they made the part about child molestation feel weird when they made it mentioned so casually, but it's Lohan's talent that makes you go from one emotion to another. The writer may not be the best creating a good plot, but in the end you can forgive his poor writing due to the actresses' talent in executing it. In short, this is a movie with a good cast but a bad script.
I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
Well, Let's See
The girl who startled audiences in The Parent Trap (1998) is not the cute 11-year-old we loved anymore. She made a series of bad decisions that almost ended her career. One of them was this movie. Bad plot, bad writing, and bad directing. It's recipe for failure. Yet, even the worst of movies has a merit or two. I guess not every movie should be great.
