Goosebumps written all over it
28 June 2022
Let me be honest! Before I even started watching it, I sat with the intention that even if its a poor series, I won't give it less than 8 anyhow, as a tribute to the soldiers and warriors of this series! Yes I know that's not an honest review, but I thought I could cheat this one time, just as a token of respect for what happened in this series! By the time it finished, I didn't want it to! I didn't feel .01% of guilt while rating it 10. Brilliant screenplay, amazing direction and the best possible way to pay tribute and respect to this historic series win of india. An episode each for each test match! Hats off to this series, and even more respect and love for each and every player who made this possible!

Pathetic storyline with an irritating wannabe Bobby Deol
22 March 2022
Ok so Bobby Deol, after having flopped as an actor, fails ever more miserably in this wannabe attempt to show himself as an assassin. All he does throughout the film is play counter-strike, and that too in amateur mode with computer, where no one can over power him throughout the entire movie. Thats what failure and miserableness can do to you. You tend to throw out your frustration by doing such roles in front of the camera where you are your own boss !! And leave aside hindu-muslim - I'm the last person who would ever rate a movie title based on such things - and please feel free to see my other reviews to see a proof of the same - but this movie was literally counter-strike / pub-g without any story or script or sense. If you will go and see the 10 star reviews, you will recognise that people have not even written proper english in those reviews. All are paid and misleading. Pathetic movie.

After a Wednesday.... a Thursday took many years to come
17 February 2022
This crime drama mystery is an edge of the seat thriller right from the start. The overall setting, theme, direction, and storyline gives a pleasant nostalgic feeling of the amazing movie "A Wednesday". Yami Gautam delivers next level performance. A must watch.

The Final Call (2019– )

Starts as a thriller but becomes drama towards the end
12 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The show starts off with amazing pace. Its thrilling and mysterious, but the story suddenly starts to move at 0.25x after 4th episode. 5th episode suddenly makes you feel that there was some emergency brakes applied during a roller coaster ride, and everything 5th episode onwards is philosophical and related to life after death, karma and astrology. However, all the drama and talk about life after death makes sense during the last 15 minutes of the season finale, and the director leaves the audience with the freedom to look at the lead actor with 2 different point of views - A villain or a hero !! And that's the brilliance of a cinematic ending. Definitely one time watch.

Reviewing this from a cinematic perspective
26 December 2021
I am penning this review solely with respect to a cinematic viewing experience and the sensation and emotions that a viewer experiences after leaving the theatre. From that viewpoint, the movie is fabulous. But if I initiate evaluating not keeping my vendetta and animosities aside, I will end up giving 1 star just like all the Ranveer/Kabir haters. Why else the rating would not follow a normal distribution. Either the rating is 1, or 8,9,10. This is mathematically and logically not fitting. On a serious note, if all you care about is a brilliant cinematic experience, just go for it. The movie might be a tad slow at places, but it doesn't hurt the overall feel and script. The music is extraordinary, humour is relevant, emotions are apt, and everyone maintains an equilibrium in such a way that it never feels that its just kapil dev/ranveer singh show. And this is the nicest aspect of the movie. It rationalizes its title. The title is "83", not "Kapil Dev". The movie glorifies the journey of Indian cricket team and Kapil Dev's endeavors and his beliefs for an underdog team. There are some junctures that simple deliver goosebumps, especially the india Zimbabwe match and viv richards catch. At the end of the movie, one could be easily overwhelmed because of the emotions and sensations it generates. My take - Go see it to experience magic, especially of you like Cricket.

Joke of a movie
7 August 2021
NSG, indian army, indian police, and indian political system shown to be a joke ! Like any typical bollywood movie, every single person is getting killed by terrorists throughout the movie but the terrorist is suddenly out of ammo when he wants to shoot the main hero !! So cliché and dumb!! Just to show heroics of one person, the whole system is shown to be dumb. On the contrary, indian army, indian intelligence and indian police is very bold and brave, while in the movie, its shown as completely opposite. I am quite surprised at the high rating. And please, dont even compare it with uri. Its like demeaning uri.

Too predictable
24 June 2021
The director should be punished for revealing the main plot right in the first quarter of the movie.

Unnecessarily long
12 August 2020
More potholes and glitches than sensible moments. Dont expect to watch this with reasoning or logic. If you're a movie buff you wont like this. This movie has just been made to show Foster as a superwoman, who wont take help from anyone otherwise it will end the movie too soon

I did not know Berry is such a hopeless actress. Its more easy to find flaws in this movie than find sense

Unnecessarily overstretched

Like a typical bollywood movie, the heroes are shown completely crippled and handicapped throughout the movie and suddenly they get power as the movie is about to end.

Horrible movie
22 September 2016
I don't know why the movie is getting such good reviews. The reality is that the movie actually is a sadist. I am not allowed to write any spoiler here, but the best thing about the movie is there isn't any spoiler. This should not be even included in the thriller genre. A movie is a thriller when the unexpected happens. Or when the director plays with your imagination and you are wrong. Something else happens. Thats not the case here. The movie is pathetically slow. Too much repetitive. It has been prolonged way too much just to meet the Bollywood standards maybe. If someone is feeling happy and wants to feel how does depression feel, this is the movie to watch. The 3 girls, throughout the movie just cry cry and cry. Various possible alternatives have not even been considered, just to show the plight of girls. This isn't a spoiler, just a general observation. When police ill-treats one of your friends, then u always have the option of going to media and stop such ill-treatment. But no, director is too much melodramatic. please don't consider watching this movie. Yes, the movie has a strong moral and message at the end, but that moral could have been presented in a much better way rather than being so much over dramatic. No doubt, Amitabh Bacchan rocks like always

Don't understand all the hype
21 April 2016
Maybe mine will be a review quite ironical to the others, but no, i am not writing this kind of review just to simply show off myself as a critic or something. The movie seems as if it was directed by 2 different directors before and after the interval. The movie before the interval is very gripping. 80% of the first half belongs to Gaurav (Aryan Khanna's fan) and he absolutely mesmerizes the audience with the KING KHAN performance. Yes, all the reviews which assert that King khan is back, maybe they talk about the first half. You can see glimpses of the SRK of Darr where he clearly shows he is on the epitome of acting. He proves to everyone why only he is SRK, and no one else can ever be. The interval comes at a very apt time when the perfect tone is set to the movie. You are damn excited about the second half. But the second half spoils the whole movie. It is absolutely unrealistic, too much typical bollywood drama, and it appears a completely different movie. More towards kiddish. While the first half leaves you thrilled because of its realistic approach, the second half spoils the fun by being too much flashy. There are many scene where you would feel, what was the need of this scene? Its completely illogical. Its a must watch, because SRK simply rocks 5-6 scenes in the movie with his awesome acting, but you cant expect too much from the story. And for the many people who say that it is SRK's BEST performance till date, they should go and watch Swades, Kal ho na ho, Chak De India, My name is khan, baazigar, and many more, once again. 4 out of 5 stars for the first half, 1 out of 5 for the second.
