What a picture!
20 January 2022
A refreshing, entertaining and haunting portrait of a group of friends whose lives will change forever when they decide to share long-kept secrets.

The film combines an extraordinary all-star cast with a brilliant screenplay and outstanding directing and the film's atmosphere is kept together by the excellent production design and Mouzanar's memorable score.

This is a film that will bombard you with shocking revelations and keep you on your toes as you wait for what comes next. It is certainly a long overdue surprise in the world of Arab cinema, especially comedies.

The Present (2020)

A masterpiece

The Present is a heartbreaking film that illustrates the reality of the israeli occupation in Palestine. In this short film, the director was able to brilliantly capture the essence of the inhumane israeli occupation of Palestinians by demonstrating its unjust treatment of Palestinian citizens and showcasing the checkpoints, segregated roads, constant interrogation and continuous armed inspection that Palestinians must go through every single day when performing tasks as simple as going shopping in their town. The film also sheds light on the physical and mental repercussions of this occupation on the men, women and especially children who suffer because of it.

Jinn (2019)
4/10
Biggest disappointment of 2019
17 June 2019
The one and only decent thing about this show is the cinematography and the editing. Other than that, every other aspect cannot be described as anything but horrible. The story is shallow, the dialogue makes no sense, the acting performances are a disgrace and the directing is no better. In addition to all of that, Jinn was supposed to be the first "Arab" Netflix Original show. However, Jinn is Arab in nothing but the language used. It does not represent Arab and Jordanian culture in anyway; the dialogue, characters and even the dialect is far off from being Jordanian or Arab. As a Jordanian teenager, I was really excited about this show and expected to be mindblown by it, especially that it is a Netflix show with, obviously, a huge budget. After watching it, I am extremely disappointed with it. I definitely do not recomment that anyone watch it.
