Wonka (2023)

Delightful and Lovely
27 December 2023
I don't usually leave reviews, I'm the lookie loo of movies and series here, often surprised at people's reviews As a child I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, adored the original movie Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory. Pretty much fell in love with Gene Wilder, and to this day desire that purple coat. Tim Burtons , slash Johnny Depp version, uhhhh no. This Prequel is closer to what Roald Dahl would agree with I think. The musical numbers, and the actors! Great casting, I love Hugh Grant in his role as oopa loopa. The humor The CHOCOLATE!!! Congratulations to the special effects department. Go see, Go watch, Go be entertained in their world of pure imagination.

Not as bad as everyone thinks
26 August 2018
I've been reading the reviews and people seem to forget this is Disney, so it will be corny and silly. I do like musicals and although this isnt the best its not the worse either. I do wish they'd stop "updating" from the original, but I guess with all the technology we have now ( cellphones, computers, CGI) they just had to. So lighten up reviewers ! Its not THAT BAD!!! :)

The Accused (1988)

Fan favorite

Warning: Spoilers
I have watched 100's of movies in my years (I am 56 yrs old) almost 30 years later and watching for the umpteenth time, I am still in awe of Jodie Foster and the plot of this film. I know the beginning ..the middle.. and the end ..but my fav part is when Sarah crashes the attorney home party and tells her off! I will most likely see this again and again until the day I die, I have so many favorite films (amateur film buff) and this is one of them because of Foster's performance.

Really not that bad

If you like Melissa McCarthy, you will like this silly movie. Silly is the operative word here. Not meant to be realistic or dramatic. I enjoyed the performances of lighthearted comedy. Parts are a bit aggressive but not violent. Silly climax, silly plot, silly movie. I didn't love it but I liked it a lot!

Seventh Son (I) (2014)
10/10
sleeper gem
16 October 2016
Know first, I do not care for this genre of movies. I record lots of films via my DVR to watch and at times find hidden gems. This movie is one of them. Set in mid evil times with two outstanding known actors, pretty much a good verses evil tale. A spook needs a seventh son to be his apprentice to fight against evil witches and monsters mainly the queen of witches, played by Julianne Moore who plays this part deliciously. She proves she can play any character . Also Jeff Bridges plays the spook and I realized they were both in the movie " The Big Lebowski" together . ha ha ha this film moves pleasantly fast, has great special effects without being gory. The story line may not be a complex or have a wow factor but a good story non the less. It kept my attention until the very end. If you enjoy a pleasant two hour joy ride with good acting and special effects I recommend this sleeper gem.
