Some acuraccy problems, heart in the right place
5 September 2020
The heart of the series I think is the right place, but it seems in their need to give the series human gravitas they bent some the rules of communication, Im not an expert but some lag should be show cased when communications are concerned, the human relations of the characters are well made, I only wished they did not bent the rules of communication on such long distances to make the interactions "better" I think they may have done that for sake of streamlining the story, but it diminished the realism of the show, and in doing so they broke part of my suspension of disbelief, Im only 2 eps in, so maybe the communications will lag more as they approach Mars, if they dont then... yeah that's quite the mistake.

So many series add horror elements or unnecessary problems to space travel (which also make me brake my suspension of disbelieve), and they do that to make the story "better" or more exiting, it seems its really hard for the creators of this type of series to not add this kind of things, and Im glad this series does not fall into that category, if they didn't not had screwed he communication lag I would have rated the series higher.

I hope the series improve as the eps go by, I want to see more of this type of grounded scifi series.

Only seen 3 episodes, its an alright fantasy story so far.

It seems a lot of hate for this series is coming from book readers, I haven't read the book, and it might be as they say better in some ways, I have no idea my self at the moment. The actors are for the most part competent, but at times the younger ones do act a bit too goofy for the setting, granted even tho they live in a somewhat grim setting they are still teens which would make them more prone to being goofy, however that silliness only would be completely credible if you dropped teens from our era into this fantasy world, so what I mean to say is that they are a bit out of character.

That being said for the most part they are alright... but they could have been written better.

The story progressed fine on this 3 episodes, I might change my mind after I see the whole thing tho, I like the fact I haven't seen too much of current real world politics injected into the plot so far (as this something many current film stories are prone to do and that I really dislike), I also liked that the main character is not made into a fool or a genius that has all the solutions, and he seems to be learning to handle him self better as the story goes along, again ill have to wait till I see the whole thing, but to being with its an alright story with likeable characters for the most part.

Good character driven stories
24 September 2018
Very good show, the animation is extremely well done, and the character designs are charming, the show is very light hearted but surprisingly so they manage to keep that tone while keeping the tension on the adventures, I felt the first episode was on the slow side, but I stuck to it and watched the whole thing, if you do too you will find out why its getting so many good reviews.

It has something to teach about people and relationships but its not preachy about it, respecting the audience to draw their own conclusions.

I think this is a great show for kids and adults alike, give it a shot, if you like well crafted character driven stories you wont be disappointed, Im looking forward to more seasons.
