Sicko (2007)
brilliant documentary: a wake up call for the Americans.
I was completely stunned after watching 'Sicko'. A woman loses her husband, another woman her baby because they get denied of medical treatment. People getting thrown out of the hospital on the street because they couldn't pay the bills... And these are just some of the numerous heartrending stories told by people who are victims of the evil healthcare system in the USA, which it's main purpose is not the health of the people but to make maximum profit. Nothing wrong with capitalism but ruining and even killing innocent people just to make a few bucks more is just pure evil. I just couldn't believe my eyes! Times like these i feel very fortunate i am not a US citizen. But at the same time i feel very sorry for the people in the US. It's like this lady said in the movie, here in France (and most European countries) the government is afraid of the people. People get on the street if they are unhappy with the government. In America it's the opposite. It's the people who are afraid of the government. Dammit you Americans what's wrong with you people, why are you keeping up with this atrocity?? You should all be on the streets ! Let your voice be heard. Arrghh this movie makes me sad and angry at the same time...
The Sopranos: Made in America (2007)
Best TV show ever...
I've been registered to IMDb for some years now and not once did i feel compelled to write a comment on a movie or TV show. The Sopranos however is so genius i just had to write something ! Thank you mr. Chase for the best television show ever! The way you have approached and portrayed this show deserves the highest respect. The small details, the fact that not everything is explained into tiny bits, the realism of dialogues, just about everything about The Sopranos is top notch. I was sitting on the edge of my seat at the last episode. You could cut the tension. The ending for me was perfect. Mr Chase is mocking with the typical Hollywood endings where everything has to have a clear ending. I guess the viewer can now imagine his own possible ending. To me at the end Tony gets killed and that's when the screen turns black. As Tony and Bobby were discussing on their boat trip (dunno if it was Tony or Bobby who said it) when you die you don't even realize it. It just turns dark without any warning, just as the viewers were stupified when suddenly the credits appeared on screen... Absolutely perfect ending for a perfect show. Thank you once again mr. Chase for this breath of fresh air in television land. Looking forward to your new projects!
