House of the Dragon (2022)
Amazing prologue for a story that will rival the original
A lot of people seem to be giving up on this show, as a book reader I find it funny because what they've shown so far is essentially the prologue and it was adapted perfectly. Perhaps if I didn't know what was being set up I wouldn't love it as much but once the dance starts unfolding all the setup and foreshadowing that's been beautifully done will makes sense. All the twists, scheming, battles that you expect from this IP will come and will be more impactful because of what we've seen in these episodes.
To me the dance of dragons was a better written conflict than the war of five kings that the original series portrays. The main reason for that is all of this characterization that we are getting now. I love the original series but could you imagine watching the show, knowing how Cersei's teenage years shaped her into the political creature she was or how Tywin's upbringing and the faults of his father made him into the force he became? That's essentially what you're getting now so be grateful because the payoff will be so much sweeter because of it.
Blood of Zeus (2020)
Plot and main character are flawed but the gods and villains are very well done and worth the watch
The main character is a bit of a Gary stu but the portrayal of the Olympian gods and the twists/additions to the mythology are refreshing. Highly recommend to those who enjoy Greek mythology
The Legend of Korra (2012)
Most of the negative reviewers never even watched the whole thing but watched a YouTube video
I used to hate Korra bc I watched the video series by E:R and then another hour and half video that gave me the impression that this show was as bad as Star Wars sequels. Well it's actually pretty solid, season 1 was an 8/10 that could've had a better resolution, 2 However was as bad as the videos made the series out to be, I'd recommend skipping it or only watching the final episode of that. But season 3 was something else. It's probably my favorite season of ATLA or LOK, villains were so well done and a ton of good character moments. 4 was about as good as 1 with an amazing portrayal of ptsd that I've never seen before in children shows like this. All in all it's about an 8.5-9/10 but I'm giving it a 10 to balance out the many 1s that are being given by people who didn't even watch the series
Kangoku gakuen (2015)
Unique
Not like anything I've seen before, I've watched a lot of anime and this one really stands out, despite swinging between misogyny and misandry while being drenched in lewdness it has a weird charm to it that's hard to explain. It's just unforgettable, the characters are all memorable and it'll make you cry from laughter every 2 minutes
The Witcher (2019)
Beginning is dull but when it picks up it is wonderful
First 3 episodes are kind of hard to get through, a lot of exposition and backstory that honestly may not have been needed. Episode 4 honestly would of been a better pilot because it explains Backstory but things really pick up plot wise. Everything after episode 4 is great television, best tv I've seen this year and this show would be in the 9-10/10 range if it wasn't for the first 3 episodes
