Gran Turismo 7 (2022 Video Game)

Absolutely terrible all the way around
2 January 2023
Honestly I've written too much elsewhere to put a lot of effort here. There's too many negatives to list so I'll keep it short.

You have to be rich and have no job in order to enjoy this game. You have to spend thousands of hours, logging in and playing for hours a day to achieve any progress toward the things which are locked behind RNG mechanics, such as; certain cars which require invitations to buy, cars that cost millions upon millions of credits, which you can buy 2 million credits for $20, engine swaps which are locked behind roulette tickets which you rarely get, and then are locked to certain cars of which it does not tell you which, you have to rely on the community for information, then there's car parts locked behind roulette tickets which you can not get elsewhere. Then there's bugs, which make online play nearly impossible because the console freezes every time somebody; joins the lobby, leaves the lobby, enters the track, and leaves the track. Then there's no lobby host migration so as soon as the host leaves, everybody is kicked from the game. Car lights are bugged on tons of cars.

Basically there is no positive redeeming factor that makes this "game" worth playing. It's a credit card machine with built-in limitations made to make you spend money, and tons, tons, and tons of time if you want any chance at experiencing everything the "game" has to offer.

GO RETIRE KAZ!

If you played RE 1 and 2 as a kid, you'll love it
20 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have never cared for the Resident Evil movie franchise, at all. Having played the games before the movies started, the movies were pretty much separate from the games, capitalizing off the Resident Evil name only.

This movie changes that, it is what the very first Resident Evil movie should have been. There are a lot of questionable decisions made, most obvious being the actors cast, but I was able to look past it and enjoy the movie for what it is. The start of it all.

If you played Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 as a kid, you'll probably like it more than the average joe. The movie is basically Resident Evil 1 (takes place at the mansion) and Resident Evil 2 (takes place at the Racoon Police Department) combined into one story.

They did a good job paying homage to the games, although it does feel super compressed. This could have been a 3 or 4 hour movie easily, a ton of details and lore are left out. The word T-Virus and G-Virus are said merely one time throughout the entire movie, and hardly explained, as the character who explains the lore and doings of the Umbrella Corp is killed off a minute after uttering the words T-Virus. I was disappointed they spent so little time at the Racoon police station, but seeing the front lobby alone had me saying "wow". It's iconic to me as RE2 was one of my favorite and most played games as a kid and the lobby was the most played area in the beginning. The movie even shows a couple of the puzzles as the diamond, heart, spade, and club keys make an appearance, although brief. The Licker also makes a showing. It was just a treat, I felt like a kid all over again.

Despite it's shortcomings, it was a super nostalgic trip down memory lane and I enjoyed every single minute. It is by far the best game movie I've ever watched. It ain't perfect by any means, but I'll be watching it again and again.

The movie is an 8 or 9 for me but I'm rating it 10 to offset all the ridiculously low ratings. Movie rating is such a subjective thing, clearly 90% of the people watching this, it ain't your thing, move on. No need to rate it 1 star and call it the worst movie in the world when clearly you need to go watch Shawshank Redemption (blech, snore) for the millionth time.

Don't understand all the hate

It's not a bad movie at all. Both Seagal and DMX are showing their age but do alright. Pretty decent story. The ending had a nice twist to it.

I can't believe I've never seen or heard of this movie before. It's hilarious, good acting, good plot, good jokes. What a movie.

Biased review

Warning: Spoilers
This was my favorite movie growing up. The fantasy of being free from parents and the fantasy of being able to drive are what drew me to it. This movie made the red Pontiac Grand Prix an icon for me. Every time I see one, I think of this movie, still to this day. I've recently re-watched it as an adult after not seeing it for a good 18 years, and realized I never understood the plot. After seeing it as an adult, it's still a great movie. The plot is original and for the most part, believable, although the scene where Josh convinces the guy that he's his long lost son, you'd have to be real naive to believe him, but I guess on the believable side, he was drunk, and the character did seem pretty naive. Another scene on the unbelievable side is the scene with the cop, when Josh & Sam are sitting on the picnic bench having lunch with the Liberty Maid, and the cop asks to see her ID for no reason, very illegal and very unlikely to happen. I grew a distaste to Josh for what really is brainwashing his little brother and putting him in such a dangerous situation for what seemingly is for selfish reasons. Josh is really a sociopathic liar who repeatedly gets caught in his lies and uses more lies to cover his tracks. As an adult, I really don't like Josh, and I don't feel sorry for him. As a kid, you really don't notice it. Anyways, good movie, wish it weren't so rare and unknown.

Tried to watch it anyways
21 April 2018
But it was terrible. Didn't keep my attention, didn't make sense. The critics are right on this one.

T1 was good, T2 was great, T3 was OK, the rest are all trash, including this.

Predestination (I) (2014)

Wow
15 April 2018
I will try not to spoil it but the first half of the film was pretty long, boring, and drawn out. I almost turned it off because I took it as another LGBT propaganda film, but after watching it, it's not. The second half of the film is where the mind bending plot magic starts to happen. I am a fairly intelligent person and I found myself guessing, second guessing, and guessing wrong every time. There's no way these bad reviewers could possibly know the plot before it unfolds and I believe just the very premise of the plot makes them uncomfortable. It is, umm, weird, to say the least.

I deducted two stars because the first half of the film is so boring and empathy begging, and when I re-watch the film, I will more than likely find myself skipping the first half, which will leave me with a 45 minute movie. The last 45 minutes however, are worth all eight stars.

Definitely recommend watching, and definitely recommend watching without reading the spoilers. Also, disregard the bad reviews. I've read them and they really don't make any valid points against it other than that it makes them uncomfortable or they think it's weird or predictable. Weird, yes, big deal so what, but predictable? Not the least
