Kevin Can F**k Himself: Allison's House (2022)
Season 2, Episode 8
9/10
Is it the end?
27 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Certainly one of the most satisfying ending of a series I can think of. I was waiting for the transition from sitcom to reality from the start and they did not disappoint, the way Kevin turns from clown to terrifying abuser is scary and just show Petersen's talent, the real Kevin (James) wouldn't be able to do that even with Kubrick directing. Great episode but is it really the end or the fact we did not see his body and no one commented on him being dead leaves the door open to a third season, maybe all dark with Kevin ready to destroy the wife's life? Black Mirror: Joan Is Awful (2023)

Not only Joan

Annie Murphy is great, so funny end expressive. This first episode unfortunately must be one of the worst in the whole series. Unnecessarily gross in a couple of sequences for no reason, confused and vague in the final explanation and generally totally lacking of logic. Annie Murphy is great, so funny and expressive. Don't Worry Darling (I) (2022)
4/10
Too long
5 March 2023
Take an average Black Mirror episode, extend the time by one hour with songs, hallucinations and house cleaning and you have this "Don't worry darling". Florence more or less she plays the same character of trapped woman she played in Midsommer. Harry does Harry included an awkward and clumsy dance number where he shows he can't dance, like we all know. Chris is once more the poor man George Clooney and in this movie his head seemed to be even more spacious than usual. The rest of the cast was just an accessory. Beautiful colours, great clothes, lots of confusing dialogues and so many things not explained and left open. If you haven't seen it don't rush, stick to Black Mirror instead.

Stinker
28 January 2023
The most worrying thing about this movie is not the movie itself, but the amount of people thinking to "get it" and read something in it that it is just in their fantasy. They are among us undetected, thinking to be smarter that others so thanks IMDB for exposing them.

The movie lacks any excitement, the acting has no emotions (that is wanted but why?), the dialogues are bizarre especially between the doctor and Sarah, the plot is silly (financial replacement support?), the combat training ridiculous, worst boyfriend and mother ever, the list is long.

It's one of those movies you watch to see how bad can they be, and here there are excellent achievements in being bad. Even the ending is lame. In an age where majority of movies are two hours long this has the positive to be just over 90 minutes, but boy they feel like 3 hours . Avoid.

Trend(s)
19 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The biggest hype surrounds this depressing movie, many are afraid to speak their mind because they think they "have" to like it to feel smart as much as hyper on the other side. It's not the only case, "Everything, everywhere ecc ecc" it's another one. On tv you have Severance or Yellowstone. In the age of social media it's everyday bigger the need to "fit in" with the rest of the flock, so many pinch their nose and walk through the stench. So we have this hugely hyped, and awarded, movie that we must like. I really wanted to do it. Then I found the detective from Mr Mercedes doing the same part minus the badge, Farrell completely miscasted reminding me of a Joey Tribiani without his sandwich jokes, and the rest bleak and depressing as they come. I am sure that is what that director wanted to achieve, and hey, mission brilliantly accomplished. Gleason cuts his hand without any reason and it's never explained. The whole movie it's just a waste of time. Maybe there is a message that not Irish people can't receive, it might be. I loved these guys in the other movie that made together, "In Bruges", but here there is nothing of that magic. It is a small movie that without the hype and watched in a little essay cinema might have a sense and a place. With the the trumpets and and the lights of Golden Globes much, much less.

Terrifier 2 (2022)

Bad
7 January 2023
One of the worst movies of all times, and I am a horror/thriller/slasher fan so I am not appalled by the graphic killings. It's not that. It is horrible because there is no plot, the dialogues are like a b movie from the 80's, the acting is something you can find in cheap 80's flicks, the music not even Carpenter would dare to use and because it's at least 1 hour too long for no reason. You know what happens if you have seen the previous horrible movie. A psychopath dressed as an ugly clown walks around killing random people in graphic and bloody ways. He is a silent killer not just mute that saves on the work of writing a script. He never dies whatever you do to it, shotgun, sword, nailed bat nothing works. The killings are so over the top that soon don't make no more impression on the viewer, it is just boring watching a messy butcher. There is nothing to like.

Nope (2022)
4/10
Nope no no no
30 December 2022
Jordan Peele is the undiscussed heir of M. Night Shyamalan. Both after a great first movie, Get Out for Peele and The Sixth Sense for the latter, keep delivering stinkers to us gullible horror fans. This probably happens because of the too many yes men these directors/writers are surrounded. This particular Nope is a more traditional B movie like they were used to make in the 50's if we compare it to the absurd Us, the previous Jordan's effort. What is the difference and why many are so negative about this one? For starters the old movies were shorter, rarely going over 90 minutes, this one drags terribly especially in the final act and for no particular reason. The whole primate under plot had also no meaning if not trying to be shocking, it was two terryfing minutes as a matter of fact but not related to the main story. Then, we are fond of old movies because we were so young and fascinated by those stories. Today's kids could not care less of B movies and UFOS and we are too old to be impressed. Now, I did not spend one cent to watch this Nope so no major regrets, if not the disappointment to see another potentially talented author slowly drifting away towards anonymity. My advice is skip this, if you watch it and agree with my considerations give me a thumb up next time you are here. Happy new year!

When will I stop?
25 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I keep watching horror movies, and supposed horror like this, and keep remaining disappointed. After Smile and Barbarian now this Midsommar promised something it couldn't deliver. It's like they can't make anymore a reasonable scary movie without people taking questionable decisions. After the dive, and the bounce, everyone in the world would have ran to the car and left. But than there would be no movie, alas they need to have people acting dumb and staying. In this particular movie there is also some dishonesty by the writer, since he makes it appear at the end like Dani was tricked by Pelle in flying to Sweden and everything was planned to have a new queen ecc, when in reality her decision to go was accidental, but again if she did not go the director would have no movie. His previous Hereditary was already bad and if I knew it was the same guy I would have passed. It is too long. It is not scary. Someone could find some kind of allegory related to today's society, but you'd really need to have lots of imagination. The way these wacky Swedish are shown I was sure the director would be Danish. At the end I regret having dedicated 150 minutes to this, but I could not sleep and the vision helped me to do it. Merry Xmas!

This new series is visually great but that's it. The apparent plot is the same stale convoluted game mixed with reality of the most boring, anachronistic science fiction. Unless you are under 18 you will be bored to death The action is in a dark Gotham City looking London for no clear reason. Chloe Grace Moretz seems to be out of place and being aware of her recent exploits she was probably chosen for the usual, these days of streaming channels, rainbow agenda pushed down the throat of their subscribers. I am not being negative because I am not a fan of this genre, but because it really is another Amazon expensive flop. Like an episode of Black Mirror, great series that, that once finished in the waste bin and now is recovered. I have watched the first episode and I won't come back. The positive reviews are clearly not genuine and unfortunately this is becoming a worrying trend on IMDB, just see how all the positive reviews have thumbs up and all the negative have thumbs down, it can be just Chloe's fanbase doing that.

I have enjoyed this for 6 episodes, until the bombing of the final chapter that ruined the whole thing. If I knew I wouldn't have watched it. So the review wants me to write more, my advice skip this and find a more satisfying show. I have enjoyed this for 6 episodes, until the bombing of the final chapter that ruined the whole thing. No point
24 August 2022
There is no point in leaving a personal opinion on this kind of show, where hordes of raging, unreasonable fans and misleading production bots rave about this kind of show. If you like gore, nudity, woke diversity pushed down your throat, albinos going berserk and dragons, if you like to fit in with the rest of a social media driven flock, if you kinda despise the activity of thinking, if you are a GOT widow then if you like all these factors all together I strongly suggest you to give it a go. Strong chances you'll love it. For all the others, pass.

Don't get bothered
20 August 2022
Jump scares, gross scenes, darkness, creepy crawlies, self harm, chants, curses, potions, you name here you find it all. You'd think this movie would be good with all these ingredients? Wrong. It falls flat, incredibly boring and never ending at nearly 2 hours. Hard to understand what's going on other that the fact someone broke a taboo, entered in a forbidden place blah blah blah. If you are used to watch horror movies you will hate this, the only ones enjoying it are novices used to soap operas.

Not bad
19 August 2022
I love Ricky Gervais and I have liked this series enough to watch all 3 seasons. I'd give 6.5 if I could but it's not possible and 7, to me, would be too much. It is much better than Derek, that I have dropped halfway, but not as good as all his other productions. The postman we all know how funny he is from the Jimmy Carr's show and here he confirms that. Roisin annoying as usual. A bit strange that he could go around calling everyone a c... , smashing driving cars windows and generally being confronting without anyone reacting to him. You can feel that he feels empty without his wife but maybe there was an excessive use of the laptop to watch her old videos. Lovely dogs that never bothered anyone barking. I don't regret watching this and I will certainly watch Ricky's next work. If you don't like his big mouth you won't change idea after this.

Imagine Chucky going Rambo going MacGyver going Home Alone and you have this, kinda entertaining movie. Too bad the writers could not giving a meaning to the precious key. Becky 2 will clarify that.

After watching this episode I wonder if they should have stopped at 2 seasons with the end of Logan's reign. They started again with the next CEO bingo. And no idea why they keep jumping from Turkey to Croatia to Bosnia ecc. I hope they don't ruin this show with two many seasons like usually happens, see Ozark, Dexter and others.

Yawn
26 July 2022
So, I haven't even finished complaining about the forgotten b&w subplot in the review of the previous episode that I have been "rewarded" (punished) with 50 minutes of b&w quirky, cinnabony silliness. The only reason I see of this is keeping a door open for, eventually, the spin off of the spin off, meaning a new series about Jimmy/Saul's life in Nebraska after BB.

Too easy
17 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am a great fan of BCS and BB but when things happening are too simplified just to make things easier and justify what we have seen in BB I am disappointed. Lalo spends months travelling the world, killing innocent people in Germany and everyone in between then when finally is face to face with Gus acts like a clown playing with his silly camera and ending shot and killed by a guy that usually moves as slow as a sloth? LOL. How handy that the gun Gus used, in the dark, was hidden just in the right place to be used in that particular moment? Vince, please. Let's not even talk about the tension so many rave about, we all know Gus won't die, Saul won't die, Mike won't die and senõr Salamanca will live with his trusty bell for many years to come .For some reason they decided to wrap up this great series in 6 final episodes and now they have the rush to set all the puzzle pieces to justify BB story. So Howard had to go, Lalo had to go like an absolute beginner, soon will be Kim's turn. They also apparently completely forgot about the black and white subplot with Jimmy working in the shopping centre bakery with a new identity shown for years in the previous season at the start of every episode. Let's hope the level will improve with the next episodes. Too easy.

Hit or miss
11 July 2022
We all know Australian productions can be hit or miss, with misses much more frequent.

Sometime Aussie dramas can be really oustanding, like Mr Inbetween for example or Wentworth. This in particular unfortunately is a miss, despite the obvious good intentions. It is broadcasted on NITV so possibly targeted to a specific demographic. I have watched two episodes and decided to drop it because I have found the plot and the acting not interesting enough to go on for the last two episodes. It is quite boring and with some unavoidable cliches. I give one star to average a bit the overly high rating left by viewers with a guilty conscience.

Gimme more
27 June 2022
Just finished to watch season 1. Great series where production managed to keep all the positive aspects of the previous Bosch seasons and somehow dropped the less exciting, like the police chief story and the political sides attached to him and Bosch's partner parallel investigations. The only factor I find they need to adjust is the tech wizard capable to hack and fix any kind of situation like magic, that is a simplified way the writers used to put all ends together. The final, huge cliffhanger will make it hard to wait for season 2 and I'm already counting the days.

Nothing in this movie makes sense: the lunatic friend story makes no sense, the pm story makes no sense, the lady hurt on the forehead makes no sense, the way they talk about the stolen daughter like they lost a cat makes no sense. A total waste of time. Only positive it's a short movie, about 90 minutes, so your misery won't drag long.

I have struggled to finish the first episode. Half of the second one I stopped when the husband went to the tradesman that banged his wife to return a tool he forgot after the bang. As others said the scariest thing here is Mrs Cox's facial surgeries. Not funny. Not scary. The only positive is the episodes are 27 minutes long.

Horrible, stupid, senseless ending. Making Dexter die like that is shameless, and, who knows, they might be so shameless to find a small pulse in his heart and resuscitate him for a new season. Hopefully without Harrison.

A masterpiece that you cannot miss if you like north European series. It's in the making an English, or American, remake that I will not watch cause it will be a mess and you should do the same. Just think of the mess Canadians made of The Killing or the American version of The Bridge. Like listening to a Beatles cover band.
