Supergirl: Back from the Future - Part One (2020)
I liked the episode but...
The truth is i love Supergirl for Kara and the ridiculousness of superhero shows . But there is always a sense of standing up for whats right. For protecting people. Season 4 was all about justice.
I thought the William plot took away from other Characters we care about. His story seems inconsequential after crisis. I would of liked to get to know him and and see Kara bond with him but at a normal pace. Kara JUST lost her world and everyone she loves. She is in a huge fight with her best friend. And yet she seems unaffected in this episode by past events . The only people i know that could do that are psychopaths and people ignoring all their pain to an almost insane amount. Personally it made Kara look like a someone who is fake. When i know that is not her character. It left a bad taste in my mouth .
However the rest of the episode was fun! But i feel like Kara is taking the sidelines when we all watch this show for her because we look up to her as our well loved hero. Where are her power moments. Her anger is what makes her so interesting and now shes this "perfect" Hopeful person ? Hopeful does not mean no emotions. It's flat writing and i know these writers are super talented. So i know they can do better.
Overall i would of given the episode a chance after all you never know what can happen and maybe the William Kara dynamic would be fun to watch but now i have three issues with this sadly.
First Mon-el makes so much more sense if he came back and was unmarried and and kind and goofy how fun would that be to see Kara deal with that? And the triangular relationships between them and Lena would be a ride for sure! Sadly this did not happen.
Second it is too obvious that they are making Lena and Kara seem romantic just to get views and they aren't going through with it which is mean and cowardly and a waste of our time. Slow burn is fine but this is so blatant that other news sources like geek weekly have called it out including people asking about them in interviews. The writers said this would be a Lena and Kara season but all i have seen is Kara being sidelined and Lena turning into a monster. And now this random guy Kara wants to date after she called him a snake literally a few episodes back?? Makes no sense.
And third the Director of this episode was one of my favorite characters on the show and actors. But he made some horrifying comments towards fans after the episode that was so terrible i will not watch the next episode. David Harewood acted unprofessionally. He started blocking fans who did not like William , he told fans that the actors they look up on the show would hate them. That Supergirl is just "fiction" and that we shouldn't care about the show too much and that he is just there for a paycheck...Unfortunately the Jessica Queller the show runner agreed with him publicly when he said that Lena and Kara are straight and that fans need to get over their delusions. But to say this after having Kara fly all over the world to get Lenas favorite things is gas lighting and abusive .
Your show is your fans its art. So many of the Supergirl cast are incredible however this is unacceptable behavior. I love supergirl and what she stood for but now i'm not sure these people are the right Heroes for the job. Melissa Benoist, Katie mcgrath, Azie Tesfai, Nicole Maines and Andrea Brooks have all been incredible professionals and so great with their fans. Jesse Rath and Jon Cryer as well.
I do believe the CW needs to take control of the situation and apologize to fans. Overall if there was not the online attacks from the director i would of liked this episode more and given the next one a chance. But he ruined it for me and many others. I'm not so sure Supergirl can keep treating fans so poorly online. I do not believe they will survive in ratings if things keep up. And this is too bad sense we were just exploring the incredible Luthors .
Supergirl: Tremors (2019)
What an episode
The acting in Supergirl especially with the main cast is incredible. And after this episode i can safely say that the acting was better than in the movies. Katie mcgrath and Melissa need to have all the awards. Not only was the writing of this episode fast paced and interesting but i found something special here that i have been waiting for in a hero show. The feeling of something greater than ones self. Kara learns the truth about Lena in the perfect way. These writers are poetic and smart . A super and luthor at odds trying to avoid the history between their families while facing trauma caused by the others lies and deceit ? If the show keeps up their momentum and follows through on the points they are making . I believe this could be the most important show on TV right now. The "drama" did not feel like empty entertainment but something bone chilling and surreal. The themes this show is portraying , love, hate, betrayal, and forgiveness are important for people to see. Overall an amazing episode , if you are wondering if you should watch supergirl i would watch it just so one can truly experience the gravity of this episode in its entirety.
Supergirl: Confidence Women (2019)
WOW WOW WOW
Okay i am a Luthor fan so this episode was so incredible to watch. The depths of Lena's character is explored and i have to say she may be one of the most complicated characters in the arrow verse or on TV. We all know the arrow verse has issues with timelines so ignoring the fine details of time i think it is easy to say this was one of the best episodes supergirl has aired. Definitely in the top ten. Overall if you want to understand the conflict in this season and make reason of Lena's actions i would watch this episode. I think after this episode the ground work has been laid for an incredible season . I can't wait !
Supergirl (2015)
It gets better
The show finds itself after changing studios and overall is a fun watch. It makes you want to be a hero. It's on Netflix and is definitely something you'll binge watch.
Supergirl: The Quest for Peace (2019)
Yes!!! Great!
Not many shows explore current issues but that is what comic book heroes are all about. Comic books push all story lines to explore human nature. I love this and adding the Luthors is the best part of the show. DC has always excelled with villains. This was my favorite season , i really want to explore Kara's rage that she had in season one and two. Can't wait for next season!
Supergirl: Blurred Lines (2019)
Very Good!
Love that we are seeing the characters develop, plus i can tell this story line is about to get crazy in a good way! Can't wait for the next episode!
