Triangle of Sadness (2022)
Good, but not feel-good
The movie was introduced by the director, wising you a blast and hoping to crack the audience up. For me it did something, but it was too uncomfortable for me to laugh. Being relatively well off in this world this movie holds a mirror to me and I can't help but feeling ashamed. Mission accomplished I guess.
Triangle of Sadness is referenced to its title in a physical way in the beginning, but soon shows that the mantra of everybody is equal is a hollow phrase. The real triangle of sadness seems to be between beauty, money and power. Everybody is not treated equally, and beauty, money and power makes that few have the upper hand and can treat the rest like whatever the rich man sells, while creating constructs in their minds to justify their method of gaining wealth.
Those who have no beauty money or power are forced into a subservient role, and would do anything for beauty, money or power. When the hierarchy is reversed, the new one in power (of survival) is quickly corrupted and will do anything to remain in power.

Captivating
I haven't seen Seasons 1-6 but this one can stand on its own, I'm glad I gave it a chance. Violent, dramatic, mystical, intellligent. Loved it!
