Wonderful but go back and see the original...
29 May 2023
This movie is beautifully filmed. I'm a sucker for a gorilla. (On an aside, if you can, find the very first Mighty Joe Young.) Without giving away any spoilers, baby Joe along with an adolescent girl survive a vicious scene, forevermore dedicated to taking care of one another. Flash forward to both as young adults. And so the story begins. What we see as in all movies which begin with a vicious scene, there are adults who would rather steal what is not there's than build a life on honesty. Finding Joe a safe habitat is key to his survival. What appears safe is not always so, search again and again. I loved all the actors. They touched me in how the kind ones fought for Joe's survival. This was a Disney film in the late 90s. Vivid colors. Customs and mannerisms caught and held my attention as this is supposed to be in Africa. No Oscar winners, just be prepared to be entertained for close to two hours.

Whomever rated this film at a 5...

...or lower didn't understand the film's theme. It was just that, a film or movie. The inaccuracies aren't a biggie. The writers took a storyline that spoke to them and ran with it. This is what writers do. I just want to feel something while being entertained. I'm so not a Travolta fan. Out of the movies I've seen with him, this one was the best so far. I was in the theater's for Urban Cowboy and Grease. I've earned the right to look over all of the cliches. The supporting characters in this film...each resonated with me. Even when I hated who that character was-there's one minimum in every film-I want that character changed or rehabilitated. One way or another.

Trying to push through for the sake...
4 September 2022
Until Negan and the God-awful Saviors, this series couldn't be touched. To not sound like a cliché-all great things come to an end-for now I'm pushing through for Daryl and Dog and the kids. To see how the writers will weave Rick back into the storyline. This is like watching a beloved family member or friend wind down, all breath now stopped forever.

I could blame Andrew Lincoln for giving us a wounded complex Rick Grimes, then leaving us. I can always blame the writers for bringing Herschel and Glenn and Beth into my life, then snuffing them out. Without creating spoilers, I can say you're making a faux hero out of a man who will never grow into the role.

What once was...

I've been a faithful viewer since 1978 when Luke and Laura's storyline took off. GH will lose their footing if they don't shake loose the idiotic storylines presently going on. If the writers are going to kill off anyone else, let me send you all a list.

Who cares who the hook sinks that hook into next? You've made that storyline a joke. I read where the gal who plays Esme signed a three year contract. What's wrong with all of you writers? Bring Genie Francis back.

I see where the older actors are given slim arcs if any. This is heartbreaking. Yes, GH won for best drama this year. I don't see how.

Firing/removing Genie Francis/Laura after almost four decades showed us older viewers how much you value your senior actors and viewers. Who's next?

I'm watching season two hoping to stay with this new series next month. Having difficulty. Realize Covid stole so much from us with the thousands upon thousands of lives lost and so many others still living with what the disease did to them. Want to believe this is why this silly series has made it to season two. Escape into oblivion.

I've been able to flip back and forth between a character in his past in another world without getting tangled up. A colorful cast attempts to carry the story forward. Without giving away spoilers, I can say Natalie Zea has held her own. The rest of the actors said what was written.

Clean and fun...

Don't set your expectations too high. Loved seeing the four (B D Wong) characters from the first film. Not enough of them. Really loved seeing Blue - the Raptor - Owen worked with in the first film of this series. Blue has a child raptor, equally fun.

Wanted so much more.
8 May 2022
I signed up for Showtime because of the actor who played Adam/Javi/possibly a third name. Mistake as I was only able to get through episode five, then read something...anyway this role does nothing to further this fine actor's resume. He was the enforcer for a female Queen of the South where he excelled. Really liked the thin woman who played grownup Natalie. I'm out of positive words. I can follow a crazy premise with interspersed scenes from yesteryear as well as anyone I know. Guess I enjoyed the confused teens over their future selves. This has to be the writers inability to draw me into their storyline, the one they're so proud of.

Can't blame my 5 on the actors.
8 May 2022
The only reason I continued in spite of the awful writing is because of Josh and the woman who played his wife. I don't know any of the other actors. Probably saw the gal who played Autumn somewhere. I wouldn't allow my young daughter to watch this series since this wasn't written for family. I am a devotee to X-Files. Can't blame my distaste for this series on the bizarre storyline. Guess the pandemic scrambled everyone's misguided example of true entertainment.

Who says shelter dogs aren't winners?
9 April 2022
This film starred a shelter dog, having lived in a shelter in the past so it wasn't a hard act at all. Can't tell you how much I loved this movie. The Border Collie mix portraying Ruby won my heart. A young man, already a Trooper-so unsure of himself in spite of how far he'd worked to achieve-wanted to be part of a canine unit. This was his dream job. Nothing comes easy.

Loved this series...
9 April 2022
...though I disliked the main female to the point of cringing during all of her scenes. Won't give any spoilers. I've seen this series four times now. The writers should've rethought their decisions on characters. What they found no longer necessary actually ruined this series for me. Yet for the three seasons, I gave them an 8. I don't have any degree in film making as many of the reviewers must have in order to be so blatantly critical. I just watch and enjoy. I couldn't read Patterson's novel. Tried several times. Give this series a chance with an open mind.

Don't Expect Much...

Some of the reviews compare this film with Notting Hill. There is a slight plot line which originated in Notting Hill. That's it. Shocked someone gave this one a 6.1. I guess this is it for Jennifer. One of her earlier films, Out of Sight, was witty and romantic and packed with action. Loved Owen who did his best with what was written for this film. Seemed like this film was made to showcase Jennifer's singing and dancing. If you care nothing for her entertainment, you're out of luck here.

Hallmark typical...

No escaping Hallmark. I loved Chris Potter in the original movies.. He's acted everywhere so it wasn't a surprise to see him leave. I once adored James Denton in Desperate Housewives. He had a bit of bad boy going for him way back then.

Hallmark is traditional goody-two-shoes. To find one stinker in the mix of men would be a coup!

I view and read because of the males. There isn't one exciting male in the entire seven seasons.

Romance marred by murder...
15 January 2022
The reviewers who referred to this film as a Hallmark apparently doesn't know the Hallmark formula. I love Alyssa Milano. Her cleavage wouldn't be allowed uncovered on Hallmark. Really like Sam Page. I've seen this little movie at least thirty times over the years. It is the actors, what they bring to the screen that boosts the film's ratings. Us single gals enjoy a little romance courtesy of Netflix.

An Unforgettable Film...
10 December 2021
...with one of my favorite actresses going back to the 90s in the lead role. Sandra has come a long way from driving that bus with Keanu.

How anyone could criticize any part of this film is beyond my comprehension. But to each, right?

Strong storyline backed up with stronger acting. How one senseless act committed with not a right mind-yet for the only believable reason-could evolve into a ball of fire right out of Hell is the movie I'll remember. Sandra remains one of the handful of leading actresses today that I'll always invest my time in.

Should've known...

Warning: Spoilers
When the first episode opens with two seemingly intelligent women fighting over one man, that's a series killer right there. I tuned in only for Ryan Phillipe. Not the greatest actor his age out there, but because he's acted in well received series for many years. The pair of teen girls shouldn't have been allowed to drive outside their neighborhood. And if David Kelly who is behind Big Little Lies is part of this mess, I can only blame it on the pandemic.
