Fuller House (2016)
Nostalgic in the best way, but too mean to the Olsen Twins
I loved full house with a passion. And I love Fuller House is well, it's all cheese, but that's what Full House was about too. I'm not sure how much the younger generation will love it, hopefully they do, but the ones who loved Full House definitely will.
I only have two gripes about the show, 1) they do too much breaking down of the fourth wall and trying to make meta jokes. It takes me away from the world and constantly reminds me this is a reunion show that takes place in reality, rather than a new show or continuation of the old show/world.
2) The shade they throw at the Olsen Twins is immature. They were young when on the show, and perhaps don't have the same nostalgia the other cast do, and they've been more successful than the rest combined in a world outside of acting. While Mary Kate still acts, Ashley hasn't been in front of a camera since she was 17. I would love them to be in it, for sure, but if they are hoping for them to be in the second season, they are going the wrong way about it. They also joked in one episode how expensive the Olsen twins clothing line is, that is disparaging their real life business and livelihood.
But other than that, fan will really enjoy it. I'd definitely give it a go. The actors, particularly Candice, shine in the few dramatic scenes.
Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Belief (2015)
Lost a viewer
While I absolutely adore girl meets world, and I like that they teach us to believe in friendship and possibility, this episode was very anti -atheists and agnostics. They are telling those of us that believe in a scientific world view that we are less, that we have less hope and less possibilities. But science is in itself a marvel. I believe that there isn't a higher power, so it's up to us to make this world better. I don't mind if they discuss Christian or multiple beliefs in a show, as long as they don't bully or target characters like Farkle or Maya for not believing. I love Sabrina Carpenter (Maya), but I don't know if I will be able to continue watching this show, which I have loved up till this point.
