This movie is unforgivable
11 December 2021
The whole premise of the movie is about a truly irrational decision, which is incredibly annoying to find out they take on this emotional roller-coaster only to find out it all could have been avoided!

Thoroughly entertaining
6 March 2021
I don't understand why people want to be so negative. The movie is an amazing sequel to previous movie, the cameos the humor, it is thoroughly entertaining, ignore the unjustified criticism I laugh out loud at every Leslie Jones scene. Watch the movie for yourself the criticism is unwarranted. I suspect some people just don't appreciate the heavy ethnic themes in the movie, which is unfortunate. Also unfortunate is that they want to conflate their feelings on political topics touched on in the movie to the entertainment value of this movie.

Too any plot holes at key points thatvthe movie fails to sell the suspense.

I want to avoid spoilers but it's one of those that at key points in the movie the lead starts character starts making decisions that make no sense and are some what irrational which just spoils the movie for me take away all that and this could have been a great movie.

Poor acting lame cgi, disappointing script
27 December 2020
The Marvel movies raised the bar quite high on super hero movies and brought out the nerd out many members of mainstream public who would otherwise not care about comic book superheroes. In light of all that I can't believe that somebody thought that the standards in this movie were okay, the acting is poor the special effects almost make you this it's a movie made in the same era it was set in.

The movie is exactly what it should be
5 September 2020
People criticise the movie saying that it was made for China, I mean?? The movie is good live action interpretation of the story of Mulan, updates the visuals (effects) of the story, the movie is exactly as it should be without being repetitive when compared to the original animation I don't get the excessive criticism and the low rating. People implying that Eddie Murphy injected into Chinese fairy tale would give it more authenticity, I mean just listen to what you are saying. In fact, in light of the recent controversies steming inaccuracies in portraying other cultures and Hollywood appropriating characters I feel this movie does right by these issues and therefore authentically represents Mulan the legendary Chinese warrior Hua Mulan from the poem the Ballad of Mulan, and that is the criticism I have trouble with.

Poor man's John Wick
30 August 2020
The movie is worth the watch but frustratingly falls in many plot points and execution points that could have made it even greater, I think the makers of this movie literally said let us jump on the John Wick band wagon and make a similar movie that will be as successful because that was successful. But what they did was fail to tell their own story well. For one the movie centers around intelligent and skilled assassins and has all these ingredients for real intrigue but fizziles out with the antagonist and supposed assassin's boss running to a conviniently secluded spot that would facilitate killing him inconspicuous.

Even the way the movie ends you can tell they are pandering almost off-puttingly to requests of a sequel, which a really good movie need not do.

the even more frustrating thing because it had all the ingredients to be great (great cast, great premise, etc) but could have done better with unpacking the plot and making the fights more believable and compelling.

Too depressing!
1 July 2020
I wanted to like this series and I think the story line/premise is quite clever and interesting. I have not read the books or known of Margaret Atwood prior to reading other reviews so my reviews is purely on the entertainment value of the series, mainly of season one.

The series is very depressing for me who just wanted to watch and escape in to the 'tale'. I had to labor to get to the end of Season 1 looking for some gratification after getting through all the depressing parts just to end up with possibly more misery. You may end up even being turned off by Christianity after watching this series because of all the cruelty done in the name of religion. The story ends up being quite depressing without the emotional reward of justice/ salvation at the end. In this sense it might appeal to others maybe because it doesn't have an ending you come to expert, and just generally unsually/unpredictable.

I don't think my opinion will change after watching others seasons but that means I still think I might find myself coming back to watch more seasons.

There's message in there about social ills or how evil men can't get and you might like it if you appreciate the anolgy or the message the story is trying to convey and the acting isn't bad, but the story is just too for me watching dirio lockdown, 2020

Very underrated
30 June 2020
I can't never stand to watch anything twice but I watched this show so many times I have lost count. If ever there was contemporary comedy gold this show has to be on top of the list for me.

The amazing guest appearances, the comedy chops it's amazing, for my taste there's nothing better on television.

Right ingredients wrong quantities.
22 May 2020
I think the movie was counting on the talent of the leads to make it a great movie and Kumail Nanjaini has some great jokes Issa Rae has some clever lines but there's a big part of the movie where I found myself frustrated at the decisions of the lead characters, the movie seemed motivated by the reality TV mould in the sense that they wanted to use irrational behavior of characters to create drama and a plot foundation,in the end it ends up very average while still watchable.

Great take on the tale of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. It is a great series to binge, you watch this series to witness the sleuthing prowess of Sherlock and even though he always seems to be able to out smart everybody else, the series never gets old I still wanted to see more even after watching the very last, E13S07.

Judge for yourself
22 March 2020
The movie has taught me not to be swayed by ratings and just judge a movie for myself, because of the it's uniqueness and rich entertainment value I found it to provide, I think it should have had a higher rating, maybe some people have just taken offense or feel slighted in some of the jokes in the movie because it kind of pokes at all (polical orientation) groups. From start to end I stayed glued to the screen for one reason or the other, it's definitely better than it's rating suggests

Courage!
8 January 2020
A movie about a rookie black police woman who seems to have alienated her community with her career choice. It's a great movie given the sociopolitical landscape, with a significant story needing to be told, whether we care to admit it or not entertainment does play a part in directing social narratives and this movie seeks to address very relevant social themes while also remaining quite entertaining, we'll worth watching.

Frustrating more than frightening
22 December 2018
A movie with very little substance. The characters and their decisions most times do not make sense.

Ofcoz they use typical horror movie techniques to try get a fright out of you but there's nothing really in this one that hasn't been done better already before.

Overall a waste of 1 hour 25 minutes.
