Total Drama (2007–2014)
7/10
Kind of hit or miss
11 January 2016
Sometimes, I think TD is one of the greatest shows on television. Other times, it's a major letdown and I hate it. I'll try to review each season separately without spoiling anything.

Island: this was the only season that every fan can agree is good. If you don't like this season, you probably wouldn't like the show. It does start out painfully slow, but once it gets going, it really gets interesting. Some of the best moments of the series here.

Action: I think this season was a major letdown. It felt kind of like a rehash, and the plot developments that did happen felt either forced or OOC. No new characters and very few new interactions were introduced.

World Tour: I think the first half did pretty well, but the second half had too much drama and not enough comedy. And there was a certain character who fans drew a certain conclusion about at the end, but I personally don't see it. (Remember, this review is spoiler free.) The songs were kind of hit or miss, but there were a few standouts on both ends of the spectrum.

Revenge of the Island: It was the most exaggerated and comical of the seasons. A lot of people hate this season, but I don't think it was that bad. A lot of your opinion of this season will depend on your opinion of the new cast.

All Stars: Again, I liked the first half better than the second half. As the season went on, one storyline took over the entire show and crowded out other potentially interesting story lines. I did like how well they brought together elements of all four previous seasons, though.

Pahkitew Island: I might have given up on Total Drama if this season was not good. The characters were pretty weird, but somehow they made them work. But all Total Drama seasons had problems with the ending, and this one was the worst offender.

Ridonculous Race: I really hope we see more of this in the future. Its quality was reminiscent of Island. A lot of fresh, original ideas were brought to the table here.

Regular Show (2010–2017)
1/10
Should be called "Not Annoying Show"... it's anything but
11 January 2016
The plot lines are either really cliché and boring or completely random and come out of nowhere. The characters are "totally cool dudes" and TOTALLY COOL DUDES ARE NOT FUNNY! And the worst part is that they're constantly screaming at each other. I simply cannot get past that.

Cartoon Network needs to learn the definition of annoying. Uncle Grandpa is annoying. Problem Solverz is annoying. Annoying Orange is annoying. But Regular Show is the most annoying show I have ever seen. Hey J.G. Quintel, news flash: characters screaming at each other all the time is REALLY ANNOYING!

Contrary to popular belief at Cartoon Network, annoying does not equal funny. In fact, just the opposite. Annoying equals something I do not want to watch. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and does not deserve to be working on TV. Heck, I could make a less annoying show than this.

Tl;dr It's too annoying!

Can be occasionally good
11 January 2016
Hoping Cartoon Network realizes that this show doesn't work. Every character is an idiot. Really, some of the decisions they make are beyond idiotic.

All I can think about when I'm watching this show is how stupid the characters are. I particularly hate that Gumball and Darwin, the PROTAGONISTS, are some of the dumbest characters in the show. Maybe about 1/10 of the show's plots would have happened if their intelligence were on par with my standards.

I have to say why I gave it a 3 instead of 1. Sometimes it has made me laugh, but usually not.

Going to be easy to not watch this show in the future. Even if my brothers are watching it. They love watching stupid shows because they're stupid. The shows, not my brothers. I personally love smart shows like Gravity Falls. Never watching this show again.

But you may ask: which shows are smart? Excellent question. Time for me to tell you. Think about this review. Every sentence has a purpose. Read the first letter of each to find a popular quote from the greatest show on television.

Gravity Falls (2012–2016)
10/10
Might be the best show I've ever seen
11 January 2016
Gravity Falls is amazing in its ability to entertain everyone, from the 8 year old kid to the 80 year old grandfather, to the 15 year old high school student that was me when I first discovered the show.

Gravity Falls has everything I could possibly want in a TV show. It has a very well written mystery, with great setup, great buildup, and a great conclusion. (I don't want to spoil it, but it was done beautifully.) Not only that, but most of the mystery is tied into real life problems and it's done so well, that it can talk about those problems without getting sappy. The character development comes naturally but it's not forced. The jokes are spot on, and they come at you fast and often. (I'm pretty sure I missed a few parts the first time I watched each episode because I was laughing so hard.) And the jokes usually work on multiple levels: they're funny in the context of the show, they're usually funny as simple one- liners, and they often have subtle meanings that only adults know about.

Now, the show is sometimes pretty dark, and it gets even darker as you go on. This is because Gravity Falls gives its viewers more credit than most shows do. It expects you to be able to watch something horrifying and not be scarred for life. It expects you to appreciate all the time and effort that the producers put into the show. It expects you to analyze every frame of every episode, looking for that one clue that will prove your far-fetched theory. (And they do hide clues like that. Anything that sounds like gibberish, play backwards. Anything with scribbles, might actually be writing. Any frame with a detailed background, might contain an important clue.)

If you want a show that will continue to amaze you no matter how many times you rewatch it or how much you scrutinize it, then you need to watch Gravity Falls.
