El Club (2019)
Well made and worth watching
This drama / comedy series is full of surprises, suspense, and unexpected funny moments. The Mexico City sites are fabulous, realistic, and pristine. The sets are definitely Mexican, such as the board rooms, the exquisite homes, the luscious parks, and the serial traffic shots. The myriad of beautiful, rich actors are all quite talented along with their "staying in character".
The premise of the show is believable and unbelievable. At times, you find yourself rooting for the bad guys, the instant drug dealers and then realizing they are totally fictional. It is definitely worth binging while we're stuck in frozen North Texas homesteads.
La niña (2016)
A Gift
It took me a couple of weeks to complete La Niña. I had to pause, rewind, replay and re-watch many episodes due to the intense nature of topics. The twists and turns throughout the series kept the viewer on edge in discovering the newness of topics introduced and covered with raw emotion.
Most of the actors were of superb caliber and touched your very soul as they portrayed topics such as maternal betrayal, births, spousal infidelity, and the ups and downs of true long-lasting friendships, to name a few.
The producers were unique in pulling off a fresh, feisty, and fabulous mini series!
