It's not that bad guys
12 June 2023
The current 4.5 rating for this episode is ridiculous.

I understand the ending isn't satisfying for folks wanting a nice little bow on the season and a happy ending but this isn't a limited series. It'll be returning for a second season and Bodie's redemption story will continue.

Honestly, the decision Bodie makes is in line with everything the character did all season long - he's putting others ahead of himself. Why should he stop doing that because it negatively impacts him?

This is a solid episode with drama and intrigue throughout and, honestly, a final decision that gives us something to look forward to in season two. If it was happily ever after would there be any reason to continue the story?

Worst Television CGI Ever
31 May 2023
The mountain lion in this episode is the single worst use of CGI I have ever seen in a television show. I'd say it looks amateurish but I imagine many amateurs could've actually done a better job. If you're going to do something this poorly why do it at all? I can't believe this is something that made it on network TV.

I don't have a whole lot to actually say about the episode. It's pretty standard fare for "The Neighborhood." Calvin provides some good laughs. Dave provides some good eye rolls.

I just couldn't let the horrific CGI slide and felt the need to bring it up. The show should be ashamed of itself.

Hard Watch, But Harder Than It Had to Be
30 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy John Ridley's shows (loved his previous "American Crime" on ABC) because he shows the hardships of life as they are.

"Five Days at Memorial" is a hard show to watch, as it should be. What happened at this hospital in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the way these people and New Orleans were let down at every level is horrific. But this is an instance of Ridley going a bit too far in showing the horror. I'm mostly referring to the pet euthanasia. We feel the horror just in the characters talking about it. We don't actually need to see a roomful of dead pets. That's overkill. It's cruel to the audience.

Stop the true crime stuff
24 March 2022
This is the second time (I believe in two seasons) they have done this true crime documentary style and both times have been the worst episodes of the series. I can't believe they didn't see how much fans hated it the first time and actually brought it back.

Shouldn't Have Happened
23 December 2021
This shouldn't even be considered an episode. Two cast members showed up. No live sketches. Some of the pre-taped stuff maybe wouldn't have even made the live show. Old clips interspersed throughout. The show should've just canceled and aired a holiday special.

Best Episode of Season 5 Thus Far
9 December 2021
I think this was the best episode of the season thus far. You knew the drama between Jason and Clay was coming to a head soon and it didn't disappoint. Terrific performances from David Boreanaz and Max Thieriot.

Good Way to End Series
9 December 2021
This was a fun way to end the season and what I assume will likely be the series. Every character got a nice little moment of their own. If the show does continue they certainly put forth a strong storyline between Gabby and Brittney for the future.

I had very low expectations for this series and it became my favorite new drama on the big 4 networks.

It Has Good Bones

It's a serviceable pilot to set up the series with a likable lead in Quinta Brunson's Janine Teagues. Brunson is also the show's creator and penned the pilot. Particularly liked the joke about "Baby Shark" being the "Back That Azz Up" for young children. Look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Waiting Around for Anything
29 November 2021
Halfway through the season and with the exception of the first 10-15 minutes of the season 4 premiere following the explosive season 3 finale there's almost nothing happening in the season.

A great film about a great ballplayer
7 July 2005
"The Pride of the Yankees" was a great film about one of the greatest baseball players of all-time who's life and career ended much too early. Lou Gehrig's life and struggles with his muscular disease are told very well in this film and Gary Cooper, one of the greatest actors in Hollywood history, plays the character of Gehrig perfectly. Babe Ruth and Bill Dickey are among a few actual major league baseball player to appear in this film. Sam Wood did a fabulous job as director of this film and Jo Swerling and Herman J. Mankiewicz wrote a beautiful screenplay. "The Pride of the Yankees" is right up there with "Field of Dreams", "A League of Their Own", and "Major League" as the greatest baseball movies of all-time.
