This review is spoiler free, so I have to be wary of saying too much. I hope anybody who has seen the film gets my gist. I liked Arrival and it is a good film. Amy Adams is stellar throughout and she really carries the film. The concept is intriguing and thought provoking and I enjoyed it, but I was left with a few "why" questions so I needed to watch parts of the film again. Some people have said they had some problem following the ending of the film and that is their fault. The film makes very clear what has happened. However if you remember the beginning, that's where your confusion will come. They surprise us by using nefarious tactics to ensure that we are surprised by the film's end. Considering how strong the topics of this film are, it's a shame they copped out with tricky story telling to add to our suspense, especially considering how suspenseful the story is. It's not smart sci-fi as a result and it should have been

Vanilla Ice plays Mark Twain. This movie isn't that serious. Anybody watching this film should be aware by the name alone that it's just a bit of fun. I enjoyed it. I probably won't watch it again but there's a huge place for those sort of films in the movie world. Most comedies these days are either dark or they are dramatic comedies and they get great reviews but sometimes it's just great to watch something silly with no higher purpose. This is it. All Sandler's films are.

The only good thing about this film is that it is short. The lead actress is absolutely awful. She was neither convincing as a a nurse or a psychopath or sexy as either one, which was kinda the point of the whole film. I imagine some people will be drawn to this film by the promise of sexiness and gore, but Nurse 3D fails massively on both points. I knew this film would be terrible after 5 minutes, I toughed it out only because it was short and I didn't have enough time to watch something else before The Walking Dead comes on. If you start watching this film and after 5 minutes you think it's terrible, do yourself a favour and stop watching it.

We have all seen too many awful monster movies, but Pacific Rim marries the world of the massive Kaiju and the world of the human pilots for the Jaegars (massive mechs) really well. This isn't just a monster movie. It's a movie where people from whatever background come together to fight together against aliens who are trying to take what it ours. This movie is so uplifting and positive. There is no evil exec who is trying to hurt the heroes for no reason at all. There are just brave men and women fighting against an impossible foe and winning. This movie shows the best in human nature, They fight and spoiler ......win despite some pretty bad odds, without it ever feeling cheesy or forced. Can't wait for Pacific RIm 2.

This movie is not scary. The venue may be a scary place but it isn't handled well. The characters run around the whole time oblivious to what each other is doing despite the fact that they are a team, who've worked together for years (despite a recent recruit) and should communicate easily with each other in a friendly air. One of the 4 guys on the team spends all of his time checking out hours of tape in the basement and not working despite the whole setup for the film being that they beat other contractors because they promised to finish quicker. It's just unnecessary. How dumb do they think the audience is? They impose a time limit on the work and apparent bonuses on the workers, but they can slack off as much as they want and still believe they will get a bonus. The big reveal at the end is obvious and the movie offers no real value. Everyone who watches it will never watch it for e second time.

I found nothing to like in this film. It was slow and boring. But it seems that some people love this film a piece of art. I've never pretended to understand art but I've seen some art that I just don't get. Damien Hirst pickled a sheep and other animals (tiger shark tiger shark, tiger shark) and people feel that is art. This film is worse than watching the dead pickled shark hunt for 2 hours. If you want to have fun, this movie is not for you, plain and simple. If you enjoy weird art that most people will gloss over then give it a go. Personally, I was so bored, like watching a documentary on mute. If you love what most people hate, you'll probably love this film.

I saw some good reviews for this film and decided to check it out, but sorry to say it's dumb. The ultra tight knit family of cannibals don't communicate to each other at all, which seems ridiculous as naturally no- on in the family has a friend from outside so you would think that they'd be pretty tight. This lack of family discussion of even the most basic parts of their lives leads to the all the easily preventable problems that crop up in the film. The mother who obviously should take some sort of leadership role, just chastises her sons for not knowing what to do and nobody challenges her despite her lack of solutions. If you watch it drunk it may be better as you could then ignore the stupidity as you might think that maybe you hadn't paid attention.
