The Girl on the Train (2016)
Emily Blunt's performance is stellar
Emily Blunt's performance is stellar in this movie—she makes the movie amazing. Blunt's acting was top notch, I cannot say that enough.
I'm completely puzzled as to why the movie has some bad reviews, personally, I enjoyed every moment of the film.
The cinematography, mood, music were all aligned and created a wonderful backdrop for the viewer to be taken into the plot.
The twist at the end was pretty well done. And the way in which they allowed the sequences of the flashbacks to unfold before it, at times could have been a tad confusing, but I was drawn into the plot enough to follow what was happening.
Overall, one of the best thriller movies I have seen in a very long time. I definitely recommend seeing this movie!

Excellent acting throughout the entire film—especially from Ruth Vega Fernandez.
Excellent acting throughout the entire film—especially from Ruth Vega Fernandez. Her ability to completely become her character is so believable, you forget entirely that you're simply watching a movie with a a fictional character. Her mannerisms and facial expressions are equally as powerful as her dialogue parts. A very underrated actress, indeed! The plot was very developed and had a good amount of depth to it. I would have personally liked to see a bit more of a build up when the two girls first kissed...their glances with each other felt like they needed to be extended or more built up maybe. But other than that, the plot flowed very organically. Excellent film!

the chemistry between the actresses seemed non-existent.
I wanted to like this movie. However the chemistry between the actresses seemed non-existent.
The storyline was lacking depth. The characters were lacking dimension. It all seemed very surface level and was a movie that lacked any real emotion, very contrived in certain parts. The acting was mediocre at best.
It left you wanting...more. More depth, more emotion, something. I just didn't believe the two lead performances. Their connection didn't seem legitimate; I suppose that was the main issue, other than there not being any sort of plot development. It all felt very rushed and superficial.
