A great follow up to what could be seen as a messy part 1
7 November 2021
I was a fan of part 1, however I can see how some may have viewed it as messy with the amount of new characters and story they tried to cram into one 50 minute episode.

Part 2 was a much more streamlined episode purely focusing on the Sontarans and how they fit into the 'Flux' that is the overriding theme of this series.

My favourite part of this episode was how there were times when i genuinely felt like the doctor was powerless and didn't think she would be able to make it out of this, which if i'm being honest is a great feeling to get from the show as it keeps me hooked wondering what's going to happen rather that was has happened the past couple of series where you just know she'll figure it out in the end... but as we have no idea how the flux will play out it adds a whole new level of suspense as there are still 4 more chapters to go.

My least favourite part was some of the dialogue, particularly towards the beginning of the episode was very exposition-y... which made me cringe a bit, like yes we get what's happening you don't need to spoon feed us. But that was just minor!

Overall a great episode, great suspense and I liked the cliffhanger. Azure and Storm seem like actual villains that could do some serious harm in the show.

Credit where credit is due. Well done Chibnall... trying to leave on a high note I see.

Some people will never be happy.
31 October 2021
I wasn't the biggest fan of Chibnall's era. Season 11 was a mess...12 was slightly better... This format of a 6 part entire story is where Chibnall excels as a writer though( see Broadchurch) You will see reviews of people saying it's messy... too many characters... too much happening but also at the same time, slow?

This was a good opener. It is meant to showcase how wide spread the issue of the 'flux' is. So there are a lot of characters to introduce. If you imagine this season as a 5 hour movie... we just watched the opening, you just have to be patient with this format and learn more about all the characters introduced over the series. There was a great set up of this threat to the universe, but also questions of how are the weeping angels linked... why are the sonatarans trying to take advantage of this...

People have heard the news of RTD returning returning they are finding any reason to hate on this because of nostalgia. I saw a review saying its a middle finger to the 'old fans'.... got news for you buddy, Doctor Who was created with 4-8 part stories.... so not sure which old fans you're referring to.

Where is the proof??

I watched this with a very open mind. The stories that are told, though graphic - have no weight behind them. There is nothing to back them up other than their own families. Once you dig a little deeper, you will unfortunately see that these two have been massive advocates years after MJs death. One of them only flipping his side once he lost on on a massive job for an MJ cirque du soleil show, and he was close to bankruptcy. Then. Only Then when he was 30 did he realise that he had been molested. I'm sorry but I don't buy it. He testified under oath at 23 that MJ never did anything to him???? 23??? You know what inappropriate is at that age.

Turns out they both also joint tried to sue Michael Jackson's estate for hundreds ok MILLIONS a few years back which got thrown out of court, they've tried for book deals and got turned down. Clearly this documentary (I use that term very loosely) was their only way to get their weirdly twisted story out there... I'm just still not understanding how they can just flip their stories?? Like they are both perjurers in the eyes of the law! How come they have not been arrested?

Very horrifying and graphic and unforgettable. But so is the Saw franchise, doesn't mean it's true.

Best of the series!
18 November 2018
Great episode, very suspenseful throughout, had for me an unexpected twist. Not totally predictable. Love the Kerblam! Postman. The only thing I didn't rate was how short Lee Macks screen time was considering how much the advertised it

Doctor Who: Rosa (2018)
Season 11, Episode 3

Predictable storyline, expertly done.

Warning: Spoilers
Of course the storyline itself was going to be something trying to prevent Rosa's actions from happening... nevertheless the episode served some BRILLIANT character development for all the four leads. Amazing acting throughout and still kept on the edge of your seat even though you are sure of the outcome.

It's a Change!
7 October 2018
I'm guessing the low overall rating is due to those that still can't get over the fact a woman is playing a shapeshifting alien. I know - CRAZY.

The episode itself went straight into the story. No theme intro which was a nice change. Made it feel like a new great BBC Drama much like Bodyguard that just wrapped up a couple weeks prior. As we get into the story it is brilliant to see the change in the way the episodes themselves are filmed bringing a much grittier, real feel to them. I think this is a fabulous change from say the ocassionally very cheesey (Matt smith Era) feel to some episodes.

Brilliant acting and fantastic new production feel to the show as a whole. Great intro for any new viewers to the show.
