I Could Go on Singing (1963)
From a Garland's fan perpective
This last Judy's movie was a mediocre, compared to her talent. However, i enjoyed it.
It had some great songs like ''By myself'' and ''Hello bluebird'' and watching her on stage was fantastic.
Although, the script was a bit dull and weak, Dirk Bogarde, Jack Klugman, even the young boy who played Matt did a great job. Now, about Judy, it is interesting , watching her movies, as she seems so real and her emotions are so raw. I would recommend that movie just for the acting. Having a weak script she gave us some MARVELOUS scenes. I could say she might have deserved even an oscar nomination that year, but we all know the relationship between Judy Garland and the Academy.
Il postino (1994)
I HAD BIGGER EXPECTATIONS
I started this movie, having in my mind , it is a romantic, Italian(European) film so i had big expectations, as i am a fan of Italian movie industry and European movie industry , in general.
It was set in a beautiful location around Italy and i really liked the music. However, i didn't got invested neither in the story nor the characters, and that made the movie a bit boring for me. I saw the struggle of the protagonist, his journey into love and poetry, and his friendship with Mario(the poet) and i got a bit mad with the ending, because i felt it was a bit forced.
As a read many reviews that found this movie a masterpiece, i expected something much better....
