The Lion King (2019)
Pathetic
Real bad. No words to describe the disgust. They have destroyed a classic animated movie. Disney should have just re-released the original.
The actors don't even try to put in any emotion to the script. Just ridiculous!
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008)
Absolute Gut wrenching. Heart warming tale of friendship and horrors
Having studied about WW2 and the German atrocities, seeing such a movie made me cry despite knowing how inhumane people can be.
What started off as a sweet and innocent movie couldnt have had any other ending to drive home the horrors that subjected more than 6 million people.
My heart still breaks when I read about the current world scenario and the rise of extremism which is basically a rehash of the Nazis. Apparently, people are stupid not to learn from history.
Avenue 5 (2020)
Out of this world (quite literally)
Series of mishaps and misunderstanding in space can lead to so much chaos and plenty of laughs for us. Very well acted by Hugh Laurie. We need another season
The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
Action comedy
The action is good, comedy between the two leads is better. The USP is the relationship of the two leads and it does not disappoint. Plenty of laughs and good explosions make this a worthy watch
Alex Rider (2020)
Fan of books, this series comes mighty close
Been an avid reader of the books for a long time now and this series captures point blanc adventure skipping stormbreaker but the writing neatly ties the introductory chapter to point blanc. A bit slow at times but all in all a well fit to the book. Can't wait for the next one
Tantei gakuen Q (2003)
Mind-blowing detective series
Man! What a show. All the mysteries never let you down with the detailed explanation and deductions at the climax of each episode or if it's a continuation, then the climax of the successive episode. It honed my deduction skillset and hooked me onto anime forever. One of my favorites. Sad that there's no more
Bloodride (2020)
More thriller than horror
This show prides itself on being an anthology horror and the opening does portray this feeling with the errie music. However, the episodes are all but horror, dealing in legends, psychological thrillers at best. A good thing is that all the episodes are about 30 minutes each so a good run for a short time. The stories of each episode is uninteresting at its best though, I liked only 2 of the episodes shown so far
One Punch Man: Wanpanman (2015)
Keeps getting better
I have always been a fan of anime like attack in titan, promised Neverland, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood and death note to name a few. Recently, after dragon ball super, I've been trying to decide on an anime to bide my time and somehow came across this. Boy, am I glad I choose this.
Coming to the review :
The first season dealt with character development and an intialisation into the story. It does get a bit dry as you're still learning about the powers and the various 'heros' but you start to enjoy it in the end.
The second season takes the whole show up a few notches in terms of story, action, humor. You can expect the protagonist to come up with something really funny which will knock you off your chair in each episode. All this while keeping the story and the action progressing at a faster pace.
I'm pretty sure that my rating for this title will increase with more episodes
