An error has ocurred. Please try againThe books came out in 1992, with three more being made in 2012 and 2013 after the TV show came out. I would imagine a more modern 2019/2020 interpretation.
1. A Drink Before The War 2. Darkness, Take My Hand 3. Sacred 4. Gone, Baby, Gone 5. Prayers For Rain 6. Moonlight Mile
Since Fox's 2018 pilot that almost had Joseph Morgan and Peyton List playing main characters Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro, a few years have passed. I thought they were perfect, but ultimately I think that in a few more years we'll get another chance at this series being adapted. It happened with Locke & Key, which was also a pilot originally on Fox that became a show on Netflix 10 years later, and I think it'll happen again.
Patrick and Angie's actors ranged in the pilot and the Gone Baby Gone 2007 movie from 30 to 38 and would now be too old to play the characters. I think this will be especially true in 5 or 6 years, give or take, and they'll end up choosing actors born in 1991, with their general peers born from 1985 and younger. (I'm not Hollywood though, I prefer keeping actors close in age, especially in romantic situations. Make with that what you will.)
Here is my new and growing list for the detective series, short for now. A lot of these actors for important characters will be perfect for them in a couple of years, and that's what I'm taking into account. Don't like the main race lifting? Tough luck.

Stardust (2007)
Spellbound
In two days I had seen this movie twice. One day after the other.
I can honestly say that I love this movie. The humor in it is hilarious. I have never laughed so hard in such a long time! As a result, my sides started to hurt. The romance is sweet and I couldn't help going "awww" during all of it. They really did a good job bringing it out without making it seem idiotic, as well as the main character, Tristan's transition into a man and figuring out who he really loved. And the fantasy was spectacular! I couldn't look away! =)
It may seem a little different from the actual book, but I think the changes actually made it better for the audience. They honestly couldn't have picked a better director to make this film.
I give this movie a definite 10 out of 10. If you haven't seen it yet and you like romance, action/adventure, fantasy, and humor, you'll definitely enjoy this movie. =)
Newsies (1992)
Newsies, Newsies, Read All About It!
The main reason I watched this movie was because I was having a big obsession over Christian Bale. In the beginning, the name sounded weird, so I avoided it. But then I saw a picture of the characters dancing. "It's a MUSICAL!?! That means Christian sings and DANCES!!!!" It was the best present ever. So yes, the main reason I watched it was because Christian Bale was only 18 in it and he sang and dance. But when I finally watched it, I found I couldn't just love it because of Christian. The whole movie was brilliant. The songs range from jumpy and catchy (eg. Carrying the Banner, King of New York) to soulful and full of power and meaning (eg. Santa Fe, Once and For All). I don't care if this was considered a flop and was nominated for four Razzies (which is just full of *beep* and pure evil), it's a cult phenomena, and should be re-released in the theaters. Then people will see how much money it'll make. If you love musicals with meaning and pelvic-thrusting Newsboys, you'll love this movie. I highly recommend it. =)
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
Beyond A Masterpiece
This movie gave me great hopes when it comes to film-making. I wasn't as excited about seeing it as I was with other movies, but now I am glad that I hadn't missed this in the theaters.
It started out with the air-raids... and this particular scene told me this film was going to be interesting, so my bored expectations were only shattered by a quarter. I was fully watching the movie after this scene. After the air-raids, the Pevensies are getting ready to leave their mother and when the train starts leaving the station, hauntingly beautiful music plays, and the rest of my bored expectations were shattered. I was transfixed!!
From then on I was given a beautiful rendition of the book in this surround-sound theater. You would expect that right after the second scene I would think the rest of the movie was horrible, but on the contrary... I dared not blink for I was afraid I would miss anymore of this beauty. This movie kept me watching until the end, and caused me to find myself sitting in my seat in shock. I was THAT surprised.
The music is beautiful. The make-up, the CG effects, the animals were so realistic... I didn't once find them fake. The acting is superb and this movie is such an awesome replica of the book. There is some creative aspects that weren't exactly also in the book, which made it that much better.
I definitely recommend this to big fantasy fans (and even SLIGHT fantasy fans) and children. They will love this movie as much as I do.
10 out of 10, by far. I would give it more, but ten is the limit. Oh well, I'll take what I can get..
