Temple (2017)
A psychopath in Japan
Absorbed in his own inner worlds, a lonely fan of all Japanese self-fulfils the prophecies and myths that he encountered while learning the language. Fatally.
Apart from an egomaniac need to get every man's attention, Claire is able to enjoy all sorts of fun in a remote Japanese temple.
The Roommate (2011)
The wrong message, the right story
Curiosity killed the cat. Literally. Poor Rebecca doesn't seem to be able to handle the confusing feelings of intimacy with her roommate. Luckily, this helps Sarah fight her own curiosity and get back on track.
Catfight (2016)
A Masterpiece
Amazing. Over-the top with relatable extreme characters in society. You probably know people who are like these characters but not to that extreme, that's what makes it enjoyable to watch. Sally is a visionary of our times.
Obsessed (2009)
A smooth narrative
The coffee scene sums up the whole movie pretty well, unfortunately: the sugar is the artificial lover, the rush straight to the end goal. The coffee is Idris Elba and Beyoncé. Strong and wise.
Kuntilanak (2018)
A masterpiece
I must admit that this is my first encounter with Indonesian horror, and if what odhot-odhot says is true, this is the beginning of a journey.
The movie develops the theme of belief, depression and existential crises shaped like ghosts. Only those who can see ghosts in everyday life can cement the right beliefs and send the demons back to where they belong.
Into the Badlands (2015)
The best example of good TV
Although I watch series and movies constantly, I have never written a reveiw.
After finishing the available episodes of Into the Badlands, I decided that if there is a show that I want to share with as many people as possible, this is certainly it.
Having attracted me at first by its use of incredibly well choreographed fighting scenes, Into the badlands immerses you in a world so wonderful and complexe that you will get lost in it.
Character development, as a main pillar of the narrative, makes the story compelling and every single character likeable in their own way (from the ruthless baron Quinn to the angsty teenager MK).
This reimagining of the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West fills each and every one of the needs of TV series enthusiasts and presents to those that have not yet discovered this very important part of our current cultural environment a perfect oportunity to give it a go and enjoy pure storytelling.
