Fall (2022)
Gosh i dislike reviewers on movies like this.
This is not an amazing movie, breaking new ground. But it is also not terrible in anyway.
The best thing about the movie would be the cinematography, it looks great.
Then it would the atmosphere, good tension and anxiety inducing scenes.
The plot and acting are better than I was expecting.
The worst thing about this movie is that it is a survival thriller and that is going to drastically effect the reviews left for this movie. Its the worst thing because lots of people decide movies to watch based on the reviews and nothing else. A bad movie getting reviews that reflect that, is totally fine no matter the genre. But survival thrillers are not rated the same as other genres, instead the users here seem to rate the movie based on if the character acts as the user themselves would in that situation. "Eg, this movie sucks because the characters are so dumb, who climbs a pole for fun" is an example of a review left on this movie.
Its the worst because a good movie deserves and audience and bad reviews not actually reviewing the movie quality or content is just ridiculous.
Emergency (2022)
Bad reviews will always be
All the bad reviews blaming the characters decisions are what makes the film bad. But they do not understand fiction or something. Since it's not the choice the viewer would have made so it's just stupid plot pushing then?
No, this movie is great and amazingly acted too. People who are upset at the decisions made in the film don't seem to understand that it's fiction, not everything has to be fixed as we would in out real lives. Cause that would be boring as heck.
Dispatches from Elsewhere (2020)
Watched all 10 episodes, requires an open mind.
It's definitely an odd show that is quite difficult to follow at times and at first it seems like a fun little mystery scavenger hunt type game we get to follow along with alongside the characters, this is where the less open minded viewers got stuck, they wanted this to be the entire show, because they liked it and didn't want to try something new.
But the show doesn't care, it's going to morph into something deeper, more abstract and unconventional. It gets extremely meta and the entire worst aspect of the show that the bad reviews seem to agree upon is the entire POINT of the show. They didn't get it so they said it's dumb.
Decide for yourself and at least try it out.
Malignant (2021)
Perfectly ridiculous, decide for yourself though
Just reading some reviews here, it seems like everyone who hated it think that their opinions are the only one that counts, since they claim everyone who had fun and enjoyed it was being paid. People can like different things.
I, for one, was quite entertained, it's a ridiculous, creepy perfectly entertaining weird horror.
And I read one review saying that it was not a logical movie, since when has logic ever been a part of horror films?
F9 (2021)
The ones giving this 1 star, have never seen the 8 films. The action has always been nonsense. No different for F9
Some of the dialogue is a bit lame and the plot is basic as it gets.
But these movies didn't make it to a ninth entry and billions of dollars in profit because the other 8 had amazing plots and a bit better dialogue. They got where they are based almost entirely on amazing action sequences and quippy dialogue, then a few improved on plot as well as action, but the action was no less ridiculous.
This movie has the action you'd expect, but the plot is a little weak, but it's absolutely a genuine fast and furious movie.
The Forever Purge (2021)
Easily the best purge movie
Simply because it had a message and wasn't all about senseless violence.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
Great devices and acting. But predictable.
The twist is super predictable about 25 minutes into the movie.
So that's not ideal.
But for a saw movie this is great, imaginative traps and they are better looking than other movies.
Ending was pretty mediocre though.
Long Live Rock: Celebrate the Chaos (2019)
Solid documentary.
But the one weird thing I noticed is that some of the stories told by fans actually just the one told by the guy with all the tattoos, he didn't mention music in his story until about 5 minutes from the end, I thought his story was entirely random until like he just added like twominutes before it ended that he listens to music.
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar (2021)
Honestly it's nonsense, but the good kind.
Just all over the place in a lighthearted carefree kind of way and it's just silly and funny if you have an open sense of humour.
But I can see why people wouldn't like it but those people just can't see beyond their own sense of humour, comedy has to fit into their narrow box and this just can't be put into a box.
Loudermilk (2017)
Absolutely amazing.
This series is great, comedy and feels and plot. All amazing.
Season 1 & 2 are great, but season 3 really raises the bar, I hope it can go on as long as the creator wants it too.
Amazon please don't let me down. Audience network is gone, but you're not.
NOS4A2 (2019)
It's okay.
It's not a bad show, it's different than the book because adaptions always are. Some of the subplots don't work out like the writers thought they might. The college stuff and the main character going back and forth between her mom and dad was a bit tedious.
But for all the people saying it's terrible just because it isn't exactly like the book, if you want something exactly like the book just go read the book again.
Adaptions aren't exact recreations of what you had in your mind when you read the book. The books are used a base. Sometimes they get it close to what you want and sometimes they don't and sometimes those changes work for the better and sometimes for worse. But it's not suddenly terrible because it isn't exactly what you wanted.
