Buy My House (2022)
American dream of owning your own home may be over
I'm not saying I wouldn't sell my house to the highest/easiest bidder. Nor am I saying if I had money that I wouldn't invest in real estate. But this show makes it so clear that single family homes (including townhouses/condos) will soon be in the hands of the wealthy. I hope those who want a house are able to find a way. From my first house for $10,000 in 1974 through to my dream house now, it has been a source of adventure and accomplishment.
I guess I need to do more words. Well, throughout the years, I've painted, ceramic tiled, switched/installed light switches, fixed toilets, installed landscaping block walls for garden beds, instaled in-wall stereo speakers, etc.
Chesapeake Shores (2016)
Watched show from beginning
It has progressively gotten worse. Corny, even judged against Hallmark corniness standards. Predictable, but that's Hallmark. Characters have lost their enthusiasm, and with all the Botox everyone looks alike with their plastic faces. And, as others have said, now it is so woke. End of this show for me. I guess I need to add more criticism or else my thoughts will not be published. Or maybe this is the way the producers want fewer criticisms. Unfortunately if this is the case I can babble on and on, especially since I only have 62 more characters. Sure hope this series is replaced with a quality one.
Elvis (2022)
Never really been an Elvis fan
Except for a couple of his songs, never much of an Elvis fan. But I've watched other musician movies, and learned to appreciate their talent and struggles, e.g. Billie Holiday, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Freddie Mercury, etc. This was so very unsatisfying. Disappointing. Did not do Elvis justice, skipped over some very defining moments. Seemed like too much time on superficial scenes and nothing on his extreme childhood poverty and his fight for equality with his black back-up singers. And way too long, kind of like how long I have to make this review, even though I ran out of points to make a few sentences ago.
Little House on the Prairie (1974)
Better late than never
I was too cool to watch Little House when it first came out because I was a fresh college graduate. And I felt the Little House books were sacred and TV would ruin them. And I was never a Michael Landon fan, he was just too pretty.
Now I am hooked. Michael needs credit for not being afraid to get dirty. He has a working man's hand, not the soft, white hands of many actors today. The actors have expressive faces - not botoxed into plastic masks. And the kids aren't afraid to get dirty, maybe didn't want to, but they did.
Yea, there's plenty of "bad" things that went behind the set, as on every other set from the beginning of TV until the present. But the show deserves a lot of credit for being family friendly, and still have drama. Sometime more drama than my crime shows which are so predictable now.
I want to go live in Walnut Grove. Where you didn't worry if your child went to the outhouse in the middle of the night. Loners were not degenerates. You even sent a kid to the pond all alone. And if you worked hard, you could make a good life. Michael - I know you are gone, but could you arrange that for me?
How We Roll (2022)
Great start
So far I am really liking this show. I have not bowled in years, well, decades. I don't care about inaccuracies. I just enjoy a chance to laugh and see struggles that people face and overcome to reach a dream. Plus the plain old challenges of living in today's world. Humor is about the only way to get through things. Please do not go woke! There are ways to tackle controversial issues without preaching. It always takes 5 or 6 episodes to get rolling (pun accidental) with the characters. I sure hope this show gets an honest try!!
Chicago P.D. (2014)
Great episode
It was a great episode, between the relaxation of police officer qualifications and the things Torres could add. He needs to be permanent, he would be a great addition with his storyline and his acting ability. Keep him on! New life to the great show.
Heartland (2007)
Season 14 finally out
Been looking forward to season 14 for months now. And now I've tried to watch the first episode twice now. So depressing! Thanks to Twitter I knew someone was going to bite the dust. But the whole entire episode is super depressing, it goes on and on and on. Much as I've been addicted to the first 13 years, not sure if/when I'll try it again. Life is depressing enough, I need an escape!
Billy Elliot (2000)
Watched it again last night
Probably for the fourth or fifth time. It seems like an accurate portrayal of the miners. As a music lover, loved Swan Lake throughout the movie.the final scenes with the dad and brother going to see his performance is especially poignant. And I have to admit, I back up the final scene with spectacular leap a few times just to enjoy that power. One of my favorite movies.
A Royal Queens Christmas (2021)
Hallmark curve
I judge Hallmark movies against other Hallmark movies. I really liked this one. I know, everything is predictable, but somehow this one was the best of all the 2021 Christmas movies I've watched so far. A nice break from today's troubles and worries.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
Nice wrap-up
I like the way this was written and wrapped up. Easy to believe he can unwind in Alaska. And there is a time for all actors when the really physical scenes are borderline elder abuse. 🤣😂 Who knows, maybe he'll wander down south and bump into Marcie and they'll hit it off, then live happily ever after.😉
Not sure if the rest of the cast can carry the show. Time will tell. And we always have seasons and seasons of reruns to watch. I need these reruns when I feel the world is going crazy. NCIS lets me believe there are good people taking care of our country.
Grimm (2011)
Miss it
I miss Grimm so much. Such a good balance between freaky and regular police work. The first episodes are the best, but the series has to evolve. Thank goodness Prime Video has it available. I really don't know how many times I've gone through the whole series. It beats the heck out of most nearly everything on TV now, and I haven't found any shows with the right amount and type of monster stuff.
SEAL Team (2017)
Move to Paramount Plua
My previous rating was 10. I love this show. Seems real to me. But going to a paid channel is a good-bye for me. I am so disappointed!!😤. I already pay too much to Cox, cannot add another. I will miss all the characters and wish the cast and crew success, too bad I won't see it.

NCIS: New Orleans (2014)
New Orleans
Love New Orleans. Bakula and Black good. Show was killed by wokeness.
FBI: Most Wanted (2020)
Better choice
This show is much better than FBI. I've been watching FBI since it started because I have too much time on my hands. Didn't watch this show until recently because I figured it was the same quality as FBI. I chose wrong. This is the show to watch.
You Had Me at Aloha (2021)
Fun movie
As a When Calls the Heart watcher, it was fun to see these people outside of those roles. And of course, the scenery was beautiful. All in all, very entertaining. I rate Hallmark movies on their own scale, this was a great summer movie.
Mysteries of the Abandoned (2017)
Great history
This series should be required for every student. It makes history, geography and past politics come to life. It is excellent, I enjoy it so much!!
Friends: The Reunion (2021)
Excellent!!
Not a regular watcher of the show, only with my daughter and when mindlessly channel surfing. My daughter and I watched the reunion as a bonding moment. We both loved it. And in a way, I think I may have enjoyed it more because it was so interesting to hear about the casting, rewriting jokes, and determining story based on characters as they developed, and where the fans wanted it to end. My daughter and I both laughed, sometimes at the same moment 😁 Congratulations on a terrific reunion. Great ending for a great show.
Call Your Mother (2021)
Adequate start
Though I thought the show had promise the first couple episodes, it went downhill so fast. Too bad.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Upped my rating
I've upped my rating. Decided to think of the show as a satire. That's the only thing that can make it somewhat watchable when nothing else is on.
9-1-1 (2018)
Outstanding episode tonight
I really enjoyed the episode tonight. Full drama instead of never ending politics. Please keep this up and I'll be changing my rating to a 9 or 10. Greta, great episode!!
The Good Doctor (2017)
Tiptoe
I've upped my rating. At least for now. I appreciate that they ran a scene where the characters discussed politics, pointing out the division amongst us. Hopefully it will lead to acceptance of diverse opinions, rather than bashing one into submission. We need to get along, even while remaining strong in our views.
When Calls the Heart (2014)
Maybe a little fancy
Yes, it maybe a little "high society" for a town that size. And I can't believe all the cleaned and ironed clothes on nearly everyone. But, the actors are not afraid to get on a horse and lope around a bit. It's nice to see for a change. Hope we have many more seasons.
Station 19 (2018)
Cringe
I've cringed through this show since the beginning because of the crossover with Grey's. But I'm done. It is insulting to watch and think it is even a modicum of reality.
August Rush (2007)
Watched for Freddie Highmore
It was corny, but exactly what I needed at the time. Great acting, and I didn't even mind the music which can be really bad at times. A surprise movie, which I really loved.
