Don't agree with all these negative reviews...def worth a watch!
25 December 2020
Having just finished watching this with my family, I'm was pleasantly surprised by how this movie still managed to be a fun watch. Granted it wasn't superb by any means, but seeing all this negative reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience and let people know to give this movie a chance. Here's my breakdown:

Pros: 1) David Dhawan directed this movie. Only fair for him to do both the original and remake 2) If there's ever any actor that can come remotely close to Govinda, it's def Varun Dhawan. He did well in this role 3) Supporting cast was fun to watch as these are all legends and only David Dhawan is able to bring them all together on-screen

Cons: 1) Instead of a remake, this should have been a sequel. It would have been fun to see David Dhawan continue to story of the original to create something new and refreshing, possibly with Govinda reprising his role and Varun playing his son 2) Needed an original soundtrack. It's one thing to copy one classic song and put it within a new movie nowadays, but to do basically the entire soundtrack of the original goes a bit too far. Let the classic songs stay as classics and let's create some new music, especially bringing back the 90s legends such as Kumar, Alka, Udit, etc. 3) The on-screen chemistry of Varun and Sara didn't really work as well as one would like. I believe either having Varun paired with someone else or giving Sara more on-screen time would help to develop more chemistry since this is a new pair. Sara is still young and finding her groove.

Overall, go in not expecting to be mind-blown and treat it as a fun masala movie that has its moments.

Honest Review...Worth a Watch
25 January 2020
You'll hear mixed reviews about this movie and it boils down to going into this movie with an open mindset.

Was this movie worth watching? Yes, because it does show the power of dance and coming together to express your emotions. The dance sequences were good but there was def room to take it to the next level, esp when you see dance sequences these days online and through reality tv. I do believe that there was more than enough dance sequences, which took away from the different storylines within the movie.

Could the movie have been better? No doubt. The first half feels doesn't really excite you the way you want and feels predictable. The second half does a better job getting into the different storylines and more emotions are there as well. I believe Remo (director) does amazing with choreography, but can benefit from focusing on one storyline instead of many that he wants to focus on and try to balance.

Overall, I recommend seeing it. Def more for the young crowd but if you're a fan of dancing, esp seeing Prabhu Deva kill it on the dance floor as only he can, then check it out. Also, hats off to the music for this movie!

Award for the worst movie of the year goes to...
22 December 2019
I'll keep this short and simple, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!

I have not seen as many people walk out of a theatre ever in my life. You made your contribution in the past but there is no room for you to make such pathetic movies today. You will be doing all of us a big favor. Enough is enough. Childish acting, poor screenplay, and it feels like every other actor/actress did a better job than him. I'm done watching Salman perform anymore and you should too!

Well done film...go check it out!
29 November 2019
Having not seen any prior Commando film, I can't wait to watch them after seeing this third installment. Action was top-notch and cannot be emphasized enough how well a lot of the scenes were shot! Vidyut deserves a lot of praise for his work as the lead actor and I believe he has a very bright and strong future ahead of him. I also want to point out that the villain, Gulshan, also played his part well and deserves recognition. Overall, I enjoyed the peace and brotherhood message that was communicated, which is the theme of the movie, and really enjoyed it with the family!

This movie deserved a standing ovation!

The visuals were beyond amazing and the story itself was good to help put it all together. The action sequences and battle scenes truly were amazing to watch and cannot wait to see what's next in this series!

Worth Seeing!
2 June 2019
Octavia Spencer deserves great recognition for her role here. She absolutely nailed it and you see her character develop throughout the movie to really understand why she did what she did.

I do believe the movie felt a bit drag midway through and could have been a bit shorter in length. Overall, it was something new and entertaining all the way until the end where it takes it up a notch.

Go check it out!

Fun Family Entertainer
24 August 2016
After recently hearing about this film being banned in Pakistan and being a son of both Pakistani parents, I felt the need to write this review to make sure this film is watched by all.

This film deserves great recognition for making a movie that has an unique and entertaining storyline across both India and Pakistan. The theatre I went to was packed with families and we are enjoyed this movie for showing a positive side to Pakistan and the friendship between both India and Pakistan. The acting was well played by their respective characters, the music was okay, and the scenery of Lahore was beautiful.

I urge people to watch this film and take your families and elderly relatives because this is a feel- good movie by the time it's done.

Amazing Movie About India's Daughter
2 March 2016
This movie could not have been a better tribute to Neerja.

Her sacrifice and courageous act should never be forgotten. You feel a sense of pride knowing that she cared about saving as many lives as possible on that day.

The story was well done and I have to applaud the cast, especially Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi, who played their respected roles amazingly.

As a Pakistani, I believe this movie deserves continuous recognition and it is a must watch for everyone to understand why Neerja truly is India's daughter.

Thank you for making this movie!

Beautiful Masterpiece
6 January 2016
Thank You Sanjay Leela Bhansali for delivering an epic movie that will be remembered for years to come!

The cast, dialogue, cinematography, acting, setting, etc. was superb.

Only Mr. Bhansali is capable of making a movie like this and this is another reminder of what a great director he indeed is. It is a must watch for the entire family and also provides a great example of love not knowing a religion, but rather true love that only knows and cares about the person.

You had an entire theater clapping over here and that I do not take part in, nor see very often.

Please go watch and be prepared to be amazed!

Not The Sooraj Barjatya Type of Movie We Have Come to Love and Cherish
16 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Being a huge fan of Sooraj Barjatya, who has blessed and given us family entertainers with movies, such as Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hai, Vivaah, etc., I have been looking forward to this movie ever since it was first announced that Salman will reprise his role as "Prem" again. Unfortunately, the trailer did not sell me completely on it to begin with but I thought the movie will still do justice and be the family entertainer we all have been waiting for from his Salman's character for so long. I was disappointed to put it simple! The other films from Sooraj Barjatya worked in the past because they were realistic and something families can relate to. This movie starts off unrealistic and continues on that path. Sure there were moments in this movie that show tradition and family values, but it does not come together the way Sooraj Barjatya's tend to do so. He took a chance with going in a different direction and I kept shaking my head throughout the film. Please wait for DVD!

Top Reasons: -The pairing of Salman Khan and Soonam Kappor does not work. This is a fact! The age difference is there and in past Sooraj's movies, his pairing with Madhuri or Sonali were great because there was chemistry and age-wise it looked right.

-There is no true mother or father presence that past Sooraj's films have had, which at times were the heart and soul of the movie. Why not bring back Reema Lagoo or Alok Nath to play their respected parts?

-The whole double-role plot does not work well in Bollywood and it is true. If Salman Khan's Vijay character had been killed, then maybe the story would have been different, but seeing them together just didn't make sense because it is not realistic!

-Overall, you will not remember this movie despite how many records this movie ends up breaking! They released this movie at the appropriate time with no competition whatsoever. Trust me, the more simple the movie, but still realistic and carries the family values and traditions well that we have seen from Sooraj's movies in the past, the better!

Worst Movie of the Year!!!!
25 October 2015
I want my money back!

Honestly, I have not felt this way about a movie in such a long time.

With a pretty strong cast, you would think the movie would at least be a one-time watch with something to take away from the movie, but this movie had no direction at all.

I cannot believe that this cast agreed to do this movie. People starting walking out of the theatre half-way through and I thought the movie would pick up eventually, but it is downhill from the very beginning!

Please skip this movie and save hours back in your life.
