I had the same player growing up in the early-mid 70s. Don't know when they came out but I think it was a bit early for those. Gonna have to do some research tho. Love the series!!

Wonderfully accurate

Warning: Spoilers
I have been in love with Centennial since I watched it as a young boy on television in the 70's. I became ecstatic when I recognized some of the filming locations for the miniseries. They were filmed in and around central Kentucky. Specifically, the "St. Louis" home of Pasquinel and Lise Bockweiss is the real life home of Cassius Clay, "Whitehall," located near Richmond, Kentucky and the "fort" where Jacques was cut by the soldier was none other than Fort Boonesborough on the Kentucky River between Richmond and Winchester, KY. My favorite episode, however, is "The Longhorns." I teach High School Social Studies and in my U.S. History class I use this episode to reinforce how important cattle drives were to the old west. It shows the hardships that were experienced on those important cattle drives, not just from renegade Indians, but also the cattle rustlers and mother nature herself. Dennis Weaver has been a favorite of mine for years, anyway. His RJ Poteet is perfect. Cliff DeYoung is wonderful, too. But, I believe Michael LeClair, young Jim Lloyd, takes the cake, though. When he shoots the "Indian Chief" and then "ole Bessie" the cow, man it still brings a tear to my eye. Great Stuff!! Needs to be on DVD!!!
