Revolutionary Road (2008)
Introduction to a masterpiece which will question your lifestyle and dreams.
Can you change your life for love? What's the border between craziness and frustration? Are we really living our lives? This fantastic movie won 20 awards and 73 nominations. It's an incredible story and let's discover why.
The movie is set in Connecticut during the mid-1950 and inspired by the book "Revolutionary Road" written by Richard Yates. It's a story of love, marriages, families and abortion, ambitions and frustrations, of dreamers and conformists. It's the daily tale of all of us, on the road of our lives. Looking for an often unachievable and unknown happiness. You will ask yourself, what's the purpose of this life? It is just about having a good job, a great house, a wife, children? Or there is something more? Like the love for yourself, for your talents, your passions, your desires and dreams. But to find the right answer requires painful choices to be made, and this where this masterpiece guide us. Frank and April Wheeler are the protagonists and to give them voice and action, we have two of the most talented and incredible actors in Hollywood: Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet, directed by Sam Mendes, in one of his most successful films. It's not a movie for everyone. It's very sophisticated, well-crafted, a masterpiece in my opinion.
Limitless (2011)
A limitless movie with some limitations
To use 100% of your brain, should make you a better person. But in this case, it's all about making money and success.
The idea is good, but characters seems not developing enough to let you believe that potential.
The Fundamentals of Caring (2016)
A beautiful movie about the fundamental of live
Caring is sharing, and they did it each other.
They shared their lives, their pain, to become best friends. And if even no solutions have come so far, they improved and grew together within the rhythm of a funny sarcasm.
Life is out of the comfort zone and it must be lived not behind a window, but on the road where the best success can be to pee standing up. And you will discover how to care for someone makes you better, a free man, because what we give, is what we get.
Then sharing becomes caring.
A beautiful movie, with beautiful characters.
Lucy (2014)
And then you will know why are you living for.
It's a spectacular movie with a fantastic script.
It's the mix of science and philosophy, which leads you to the meaning of life: share your knowledge.
Scarlett is superb, as always.
The photography, the effects and a "bit" of actions will keep you entertained, while you will think about how we are missing the full of us, using only the 10% of our brain.
What can we be at 100%? We will never know probably, but to watch the movie is a must. Both for scientific and philosophical believers.
And of course for you, cine lover :)

Are you ready to live a new world?

A 10/10 masterpiece.
Carol (2015)
A great romance, for a lovely love story
It's a great romance, it's like watching a book story. The language of the signs, of the glances, of the sentences. A simple "Your perfume smells good" can means " I want you", and the way to look each other can shows a lot meaning behind that. We are on the 1952 and this is story of a lesbian love. Where one person can change the life of the another one, and together can change the life of other people. But to do that, you need to suffer before and this is what can let this love grow. Desire, absence, imagination, eroticism, art. Any details of each shot, can show a new meaning, a new detail that can let you understand a lot go them. It's a love movie. The Carol's love for her daughter, for the sense of life when she is available to decline all the support of her lawyer, because what is really important are love and respect; for the love for the freedom. What two people built together, means more than revenge and malice. And what they built always will remain, and we have to take care of that, because it's the most beautiful part of us. That's what is important. The gay love in an America not ready for that, but so intense to make think about that. The movie is just a bit slow, but it's even the time of love
it requires time to grow, to be experienced and to be part of each other. And this slow rhythm makes you appreciate each beautiful details of this story.
Jenny's Wedding (2015)
Love changes everything on a better way! Great idea, poor screenplay.
The subject is really current, the possibility to have a "normal" family between people of the same gender. It's easy to judge when all of that doesn't touch us directly, but when it does, we have to face the reality. And it starts a new way to look at that. And this is what happened to the Jenny's family and friends which are going to examine their "perfect" life, their perfect friends, their perfect families and discover step by step, that nothing was happy as they thought, but that they need to reconsider everything to be new people, to be great parents, great sisters, to be what they have dreamed to be. It's the triumph of the real love, of the real friendships, of the perfect way of how we should live: free to love, without prejudices. Love is what is really important in all of its shapes. The idea of the movie is really great what it's not very good, but this is just my opinion, is the script. It doesn't examine the characters very well, everything seems superficial, the sentences are not for a best movies... Even if the actors were acting very well, the movie seems to miss the special touch that makes magic a masterpiece. So my rate is 6 because the movie deserves to be watched, to understand better the topic that we face everyday. And we have to learn from those characters how to understand it properly, to be part of the human be: and I mean people who are able to love and respect it.
