The X-Files: Squeeze (1993)
Season 1, Episode 3

Squeezing into my top 10!
23 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The first time I watched this episode i was alone in an empty house, with all the lights off. Lets just say, I didn't sleep very well that night! This episode really sets the bar high as the first ever MOTW, or stand alone episode, as it deals with some quite horrifying concepts. A monster that can stretch and contort its body, so it can get to you through small spaces, no matter how safe you think you are. Oh, and it may have a small tendency to harvest livers. There's quite a few good, lighthearted moments to this episode, like Mulder trying to get bile off his hands, but in the meantime keeping hold of his 'cool exterior'. Eugene Victor Tooms is a household name among X-Files fans, and is a truly horrific monster, the ending will surprise you and chill you up and down, lets just say, we haven't see the last of Tooms.....

Fox Mulder? I'm Dana Scully...
28 September 2008
I saw this episode , and just thought to myself , My god i must watch every single episode!

Young rookie agent Dana Scully is assigned to work with estranged agent Fox Mulder who's life is consumed by a project he opened named ' The X-Files'. Scully has been assigned to look into Mulder's work and see if she can bring it down from the inside. The X-files are cases no one else wants and deal with unexplained paranormal activity.

Scully is the skeptic. Mulder is the believer.

And so begins the unlikely partnership of years to come.

The episode is based on documented events of the Billy Myles murders. Kids from the same year of graduation start to die , each with the same two small marks on their backs , its up to agents Mulder and Scully to investigate why and how this is happening.

The end scene in the forest is one of my favourites , both powerful and chilling , all i can say is watch to find out why , but be warned , a severe X Files addiciton may soon follow...

The X-Files: The List (1995)

Neech Manley Is Back....
6 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is a very underrated episode. Most people compare it to Chris Carters first directed episode 'Duane Barry ' which just happens to be one of the most famous x files of all time.

But 'The List' is a very good episode! More of a dark thriller than totally supernatural , a man who has been on death row for 11 years is finally executed , but not before saying he was going to come back and kill 5 people.

Of course in the prison Neech was held in guards start dying and Mulder and Scully are called in. Of course its not just as simple as Neech is back and is killing people. There is a much darker force at work as the prison warden appears to be beating inmates to death to force them to tell him who was on Neech's list.

This obviously pushes the body count up , and when 5 people are dead Mulder and Scully admit defeat and leave. This is the point when the evil warden finally meets his end as he is driving and catches a glimpse of Neech is his mirror. The warden then proceeds to crash into a tree in particularly gruesome style with eerie music.

There are some other bits of the story which i find a tad unnecessary eg. The whole Neech's wife and the prison guard. But anyway a great episode that is guaranteed to chill you to the bone.

Mulder's final finale?
2 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion , the best episode of season 2. This episode keeps you hooked 45 minutes and doesn't let go. Mulder is experiencing severe paranoia , and when his father is killed , it goes into overdrive. So bad that he punches Skinner , attacks the reappeared Krychek and Scully is forced to shoot him in the shoulder in order to stop him taking Krychek's life.

This episode is high on action and suspense , the end must of been a real cliff hanger at the time it was first broadcast.

Trapped in a metal bunker underground , filled with a pile of dead decomposed alien bodies , Mulder realises hes trapped. Thats when the CSM gives the order to burn the bunker.. with Mulder inside.

The X-Files: The Calusari (1995)
Season 2, Episode 21

The CaluSCARY
1 September 2008
Infamous for being the only ever X-files episode to be given the English '18' rating The Calusari is a captivating story of exorcism and demonic possession.

Featuring the young boy who also appeared on the season 1 episode Conduit , Mulder and Scully must race against the clock to understand why mysterious deaths keep taking place in a young boy named Charlie's presence. There's not much Mulder and Scully chemistry in this one ,so if thats why you watch the X-Files then skip this one. Because previous season 2 episodes have been so good , this one lets it down just slightly as you expect to see more action than you get.

The episode is well put together with a couple of disappointing moments where special effects let them down , but the ending is what makes the episode and landed it with the rating it bears today.

Up , up and away!
29 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Interesting episode which sees Scully's abduction take place. Its heart wrenching to see the lengths Mulder is willing to go to in order to save his ex-partner. A particularly awesome scene con sits of Mulder desperately trying to save Scully by jumping on top of a sky rail , with Krychek trying to kill him from below. I really wanted Krychek to be good , but as revealed a few episodes before hand ; he is working for CSM. A shame really.

But all in all a very good episode which shows Duane Barry's last appearance. Many good episodes revolving round Scully's abduction to come!

An Episode Well Worth Watching.
29 August 2008
An episode of very high tension as Mulder finds himself in a hostage situation with an alleged abductee. Very little action , but keeps you hooked all the way through , and nicely kicks starts the story of Scully's abduction due to Anderson's real life pregnancy. Although i would advise people with conditions like epilepsy not to watch this as there are many scenes with flashing and strobe lighting. Also contains a lot of good alien scenes , with good special effects. The ending is extremely chilling and will stay with you. A good episode , one which would make anyone want to continue watching th X-Files!

8/10!
